I almost had a heartattack when I read that the releasedate in the U asS A is 5 weeks prior to the European release. Why God, Why...:X This game is one of the reasons I bought a 360 back in december and I want to play it too on release date.. Not 5 weeks after..
Hope there is a good reasen for the late release, like some extra gore or something like that :P What do you guys think and how bad do you want this game? Spit it here ;)

It's a sandbox game, just like GTA.. In GTA the only thing you do is drive arround or walk arround. Dead Rising is like that but in a Mall and with Zombies. The best part is that everything you see is a potential weapon and can be used to slay those bastards in more ways then I can imagine. What else do you want? :D (except online play ;( )

I just got of the phone with my US Live account and it told me to say hi :P. But seriously, I doubt the demo is going to hit Live anytime soon, there's no big official announcements besides that thing in the trailer and it's rather late to announce a demo for the US or even the EU releasedate. However Capcom did take everyone by surprise by announcing a Lost Planet demo a month ahead of time (or so, not that far away from its release atleast) and then actually delivering the demo on time as well. And it turned out to be an awesome demo eventhough the actual game is coming out a year after the demo was released.. Maybe Volition should take note and not release demos of crappy old builds a month before retail.

WOW the demo is so cool, I never knew I wanted to pulverise a zombie with an over sized teddy bear till I actually did it. this game is how you say?.... l33t. I'm off to mow down some undead with a shopping cart.

You can get a book from the bookstore about photography. Whilst you have it, all the zombies have a colour coded "PP" label over their heads. Not only does it increase the PP points you score, but it also let's you spot which zombies you need to shoot for "erotica" shots, for example (pink PP over their heads). Also, you can take the shot more than once, and it'll still give you more PP points! This demo is total class.

Oh awesome - there's a lot of thought gone into where the buttons are - there's a lot of hidden depth to this game.
1) Using the photo book tip above, erotica zombies are pink PP, normal zombies are blue PP, but zombies "at the moment of death" (by your hand) have red PP! They are worth PP!! Now, all you need to do, is get your shotgun lined up, preferably on a group of clustered zombies (aim for a head). Now, in the instant you fire, quickly train yourself to also press the left trigger (camera) and X (to take a picture) straight after....

Not only will you have a picture of heads exploding... quite literally all over the shop... but your PP score will go into OVERDRIVE! ... the more blood you can capture, the BETTER. And if you can also get zombies in the picture with hangers or masks on their faces, prepare for the score to go even higher! Just that one thing alone = hours of fun practise. Your photo score will also now be colour coded to reflect how many red zombies, pink zombies, green for humour outtakes etc...

And for the record; we (the Xboxic crew, namely Curry and myself) are doing everything we can to get confirmation wether or not this region free. We mailed Play Asia and Capcom (I mailed them again and again they said that it was region locked as far as he knew but I don't (want to) believe him) and we're doing everything we can to collect info. All we have right now is that Italian website I talked (http://forum.xboxic.com/showpost.php?p=11838&postcount=89) about earlier and this (http://forum.capcom-europe.com/viewtopic.php?p=175109#175109) guy on the official Capcom forums. RANCE6 (the guy with the sick gamerscore) owns gamesshop and is planning on buying the NTSC-U version which he's going to try on his PAL 360 but that won't be until Saturday. This is a very hot topic on several other games boards so we'll know soon enough. :)

Oh and yes, the amazing Keiji Inafune is the guy behind Dead Rising (and more awesome stuff such as Resident Evil 2 and 4 and the Mega Man series) but surely he's not the one in charge of the region lockout-thing ;).

I hope everyone picks up this and not Saint's Row for their own good :D. But yeah, pretty awesome and unique game, could sell well with the proper marketing which they are apperantly getting (TV ads in the US... :)).

So how does the drink blending thing work?

In the restaurant on the top floor, in the corner behind the counter there is a blender (which says "Examine" when you look at it). If you equip some food/drink, walk over to it, and press B when the blender says Examine, it will put the food in there. Once you've put a second piece of food/drink in, it'll spit out a potion.

Yes, when you're holding something you can press Up on the d-pad and it will stash it in your items. So clear your inventory, stand next to the bowling balls and hit B, Up, B, Up, etc.

hey something i told every one to do on the Dead Rising DEMO is basically write down the amount of kills on your motto to give the demo more life lol

I think I've got about 400 but I wasn't really trying, I keep getting sidetracked by stuff.

My favourite tactic for killing sprees is: load up with 6 baseball bats, and then go on a loop - down the right-hand staircase, around the fountain, working your way across the downstairs area and timing it so that your last bat breaks when you're back in the sports shop again.

No I completely disagree. GTA is the original, and I dont remember - in GTA3 or GTA Vice particularily you being some scummy little gangsta wannabe trying to take over something as pathetic as a single street, your taking the town. I thought the story for San Andreas was the weakest sadly, gone was the fantastic 'mob' storyline in was the 'boyz from the hood' pointlessness.

Personally I find all of the US 'Gangsta' stuff completely offensive, I mean why are they even fighting? just a bunch of poor under priveledged kids fighting other poor under priveledged kids, for what, to show who is the hardest? I mean in the UK would you consider glamorising some chav gangs attacking each other, because thats what we are talking about, basically American chavs.To me 'Saints Row' is nothing more than a Chav clone of GTA and a very very poor copy. Imitation will never be innovation, its just a CASH IN on a successfull niche from a company known for poor quality games - THQ (anyone that has played home alone or home alone 2 on the SNES will testify to this).

Its exactly like comparing PGR, which is a good game to NFSU which is a rubbish shallow game, cashing in on kids love for the fast and furious films.

So to those of you that have played the saints row demo and are desperately trying to convince yourselves its actually good, I tell you its not. Its utter piddle a pathetic cash in, taking advantage of the lack of a GTA game on the 360.

Yo Chris, quit bringing up flawed comparisons, GTA and Saint's Row is a very valid comparison since both games are 90% alike, the same can not be said for NFS:MW + PGR or Halo 2 vs. Generic Alien game. Copying stuff happens all the time but the extend to which Saint's Row copies is embarrasing. And I've already started a thread on the subject a little while ago. And GTA does not involve uneducated kids but mobsters who have a reason to fight (well GTA3 and Vice City did atleast).

The game has certain stores that are 'locked' (just empty spaces within the game that can be filled up via updates) which you can buy/download the key for via Marketplace to add new content to the mall. That's what I heard atleast.

Yes, you keep your "upgrades" a.k.a. stats, but as for the story...you have to start it completely from the beginning. More people will realize this when they play. This is by far the BIGGEST mistake any game company could make! It completly takes the fun out of the game! You have one shot at beating the game in 1 try, if not your back to square #1, doing everything over again....Completely lame!

They probably did this for good reasons, they don't do stuff like that just to piss you off.

The only complaint I have so far is that the font is extremely difficult to see on screen when you don't have an HD/16:9 set.
