XBLA Wednesdays

MS are making Wednesdays worth waiting for with a new XBLA download available every wednesday for the next five weeks.

All games become available at midnight PDT. (GMT - 8) so around 8am BST.

July 12 - Frogger, 400 points
July 19 - Cloning Clyde, 800 points
July 26 - Galaga, 400 points
August 2 - Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting, 800 points (yawn)
August 9 - Pac-Man, 400 points

Hopefuly other xbla arcade games like Mad Tracks will also be available in this time frame.

Yeah the only one I really want from that list is Street Fighter, I wanna see more new games such as Mad Tracks, Hoopworld and Small Arms... Still a great idea though (those wednesdays).

I'm more interested in the new games and not the rehashes of older ones...theres only so much you can do in frogger...:P so i'm excited for cloning clyde, and hoopworld...maybe mad tracks too....something new and different...:)

Considering they apparently want to reach 50 this year, I think some Wednesdays may have more than one and others may have none.

I'm with you man, but sometimes the ladies like playing the 10 year old arcade games they remember in the donut shop as a kid. I may just end up owning all these games. it's only like a $7 us a week (average) habit, cheaper than starbucks!

XBLA games are the only things I've convinvced my GF, buddies GF, and some other ladies to play. The more that comes the better. Curry, I take it you like the Arcade quite a bit too considering your last 5 games played are all arcade titles ;)

No I still pwn the Frogger hi-score so far :P And I had an Arcade round earlier today yeah, had been working too much so got rid of some excess energy on GW, MSR, and Uno during coffee :+ Frogger and Crystal Quest were my GF on my account.

rather liked it myself, very playable, havent found the two guys to rescue on the first demo level though, found everything else though, the 5 odd tins of kronenberg might have had something to do with it though

edit, I only played that friggin frog game again to illustrate to the old man how bad it was, honest

Fun, hilarious, off beat, simple, original graphics, and by far the best XBLA game so far (IMPO).

As for the UNO theme deck, I'm not sure, I may get suckered into getting it yet, and it is only 100MP. Considering I'll save 800MP then I'll be okay.

I'm playing Uno LOADS at the moment anyway, desperately trying to get the 10 Online Wins achievement (I'm up to 8, which is more than anyone else on my friends list, although there are some real sadcases out there with like 300 wins)

I noticed that too.
I'm stuck at three online wins and no matter how many games I play, I don't seem to get that lucky serie...
I'll let the box cool down, play some Cloning Clyde and work on Mad Tracks, then I'll get back to it!!

Yeah, I mentioned my 8 wins, I kept my 40 losses quiet ;)

The trouble with Uno though, is that a lot of the time you lose because of the stupidity of other players. Like when someone's forced to pick up a card and it's a Draw Four, and they play it straight away, and the guy CHALLENGES even though he just saw him pick the damn card up. Or a guy Uno's with a colour change card and makes it green, so his last card is obviously green. I lay down a blue, and then one of the idiots next to me makes it green again 8)7

Personally I think a Hearts-type scoring system would work better, so you only get penalised for your own cards, but I'm just a sore loser.

You should have played UNO when it was released. I immediately gained 26 wins over the first three days. Now I'm up for my latest challenge, I think it was 50 wins or something. A new themedeck might get me hooked again - but indeed: they should add some new rules too.

If I've got one green card left after laying down a wild, I'm not going to switch it to green. I'll switch it to any other color than what I've got so others will change the color. I thought that was obvious to everyone. I'd probably switch it to blue or something if I had a green.

I thought the exact same thing when I read Stud's post :D Actually I'd probably try to select the right one 25% of the time so people wouldn't be able to predict my behaviour ;)
