View Full Version : Does the Xbox 360 read mp3 discs?

I'm trying to import songs to my 360 and it doesn't like CDs with mp3s on them. Will it not read mp3s?

Also, I want to import the names of the songs, but when I make a regular audio CD on itunes, my xbox only gives me the track numbers, not the song names. Do I need to use Windows Media Player when burning my songs?

How do I get my 360 to recognize song names from a regular CD-RW I burned? Whenever I make a CD-RW from itunes, none of the song names appear on my xbox... Do I need to be using Windows Media Player?

I'm not sure, does iTunes have Advanced Tag Editors? When I used to add songs to the Xbox1, I never succesfully managed to get the names ready, I had to manually type them.

Yeah, I'm not going to manually type in the names of several hundred songs... Anyone know how to get itunes to burn a disc with song names that the 360 will read?

song names aren't stored on the disc, when you see song names like that they are looked up on the internet based on the unique ID of the legitimate CD. As far as I know you can't have a burned mixed cd that can look up the song titles for you.

Shouldn't you be streaming your music anyways? That's precious demo space you're wasting!

Song names definitely are stored on discs. I got it to work with my OLD xbox... Perhaps it was becuase I used windows media player to burn them, not itunes? Does anyone know if that should matter?

Yeah, I guess I'll just test it. (I've got an apple, so I guess I need to figure out how to install windows media player on it) I guess I can always stream the songs from my ipod if it doesnt work. thanks for the help folks.

song names aren't stored on the discMy HiFI CD Player from 2000 supports the CD Text standard perfectly well and will display song titles and artists in the very rare case a CD supports it. But Nero and the likes most definitely support burning song titles directly from ID3 tags on the CD as CD Text, and that most definitely works from CD-R's :)
