Capcom informs us that the Dead Rising demo is due to go live on Xbox Live Marketplace this morning at 11am BST.

According to a Capcom spokesperson, play is limited to 15 minutes in one section of the mall. We don't know anything else, like file-size, but we thought we'd let you know anyway. We'll update this item will full details just after 11 (when you'll also notice a slight dip in productivity).

Don't really know what to tell you guys about the gameplay though. I'll gladly answer some questions :)

Graphics look great on my tv (playing in HD) and the zombie killing is nice and gore-y. The toy lightsaber is in the game as well! Didn't see any framerate drops. And the play timer is half an hour.

Sounds strange. So there's no slowdown when the zombies are actually on-screen, but the death animation is a bit laggy?

It's not an intentional thing then, like a slo-mo kill?

I also found in the restaraunt (W/E) that there is a blender, put two types of food in it and then it releases a can.

I have had:
Randomiser: Vomits a lot. Can do any of the special drinks.
Spitfire: Spits acid.
Untouchable: Can't be killed.
Nectar: Unknown
Quickstep: Runs faster.

Other known ones:
Zombait: Unknown.

No, it isn't intentional. But maybe to get Dead Rising through Microsoft's testing, this had to be an early build to get it out before the game released.

If this is going to happen in the final build, it's going to be a huge con in the reviews. A huge con.

If it's anything around 4-6 weeks, that's about the same amount of time that's needed between a game going gold, and hitting the shelves. Wonder if anyone from Capcom will comment on whether it's gold code or not.

Guess there's not long to wait for the reviews - although to be honest I'm going to try to hide from all reviews until I actually get my hands on the game in September, I want it all to be new to me.

Anyway, had to use my US account, as reported by most of the Dutchies, to get a hold of the demo. And it was definitely worth the annoyingly long wait. It looks great, feels even better but most of all….it’s ridiculously good fun to play.

The last two hours I did nothing but smashing zombies from the top of a staircase with a golf club in the most ridiculous outfit I could find (“Mr Ed” mask anyone?) and occasionally equip a skateboard to cruise down the mall…

What a great way to waste your precious time :P

Quite, at least it doesn't dump you back to the dashboard when your 15 minutes is up, you can just go straight back in again. And as there are no missions available, it's not like you're losing any progress.
