I can't remember where i heard, or read it, but i heard from SOMEWHERE that this will be released on XBLA with multiplayer. Can anyone confirm this Rumor?
I heard this because Microsoft Owns Rare, so it wouldn't be released on the Revolution with their library. :D
If this is true, that would be amazing.

I wouldnt be suprised if Nintendo had the rights for Goldeneye, RARE was a secondparty company right?
Curry

Rare was most definitely 1st party, owned by Nintendo until Microsoft bought them. Considering that GoldenEye would (sort of) compete with PDZ I don't expect them to release the game on XBLA (yet).

I am guessing that it will be out for both Nintendo and Xbox!

Well, since MS owns Rare, I don't think that they'll allow that :+

I wouldn't at all be surprised if Nintendo owned the franchise.

...18:04 – Aaron talks about the Rare licenses, like GoldenEye coming to Xbox Live… and other things.

The most interesting things to me were discussion of possible plans to rerelease Rare’s N64-based intellectual property like Goldeneye 007 onto Xbox Live Arcade (no it’s not happening)
[...]
Aaron says the Marketplace is mainly fit for either unique property or “the emulation crowd” where 8- and 16-bit games like Nintendo is doing and Midway with Joust and Gauntlet on XBLA is so much easier to do than the later 32- or 64-bit games. So Rare did bring all their licenses with them, but don’t expect them on XBLA anywhere soon.
Never judge by the summary :) He did discuss GoldenEye coming to Xbox Live, and firmly denied it.

EA owns the rights to the characters which would stop anyone from being able to redistribute the game. That means even if Nintendo or MS wanted to release the game, it would require EA's permission.

I actually think that the license to Goldeneye would be an "all-inclusive", so the rights to that single movie and its characters. I can't imagine Nintendo or Rare signing an agreement to make a game which they have to stop redistributing once someone gets the 007 license.

Usually, when a company gets rights to a movie like James Bond, it's for x number of years. I don't think MS/Rare could release Goldeneye without giving some cash to EA. Who knows, maybe they could remove all James Bond references from the game. The game would play the same, just not named Goldeneye. Of course the Goldeneye name is what would sell the game.

And they'd have to replace Bond with Kameo. That'd rock, Kameo packing grenades, guns and gadgets :P

I give you good information, here it comes:
People were asking Nintendo if 007 would become on nintendo revolution backwards live arcade online distribution system 64, along with perfect dark.
They said: no, because rare owned the rights to the game.
It is unlikely that 007 will come, because EA has bought the name goldeneye
(remember roque agent?).
But perfect dark is 'perfectly' possible :P
Oh and by the way, I got double confirmation in Atlanta, so there you go ;)

I don't see Golden Eye being released as lots of different people own different things about the game.

EA no longer owns rights to 007 (http://investor.activision.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=195153)
Maybe we'll see some better games?
Not sure about EA owning Golden Eye though.
