If there is one thing the PS2 does so much better than any other console this gen or next gen alike is the RPG's it has.

What has been your favorite RPG during the life of the PS2? And what RPG's are you looking forward to?

Also, what would you recommend to an avid RPG player like myself to get? I must tell you though, there aren't all that many I haven't got.

Main strength of the PS2 was ofcourse all the Japanese stuff. So main question would be whether you're in it for the JRPGs or the Western stuff? :)

FF all the way everytime, except that last one, which was a bit linear and shit because of it.

The more open the better.

So FFX for The Glovener then?

Nah 10 was the linear one I was talking about (don't even get me started on FFX-2), sorry I don't include XI as part of the series. It ain't even slightly the same. Far to slow, 15 weeks on your own doing nothing but fighting worms before anyone even gives you the time of day.

7-9 Fantastic, my reason for owning a PS/PS2 along with MGS anyway.

Going to have to be one kick ass FF to warrent £450 though.

ah, but I said on the PS2. I know 7 and 8 were ace, not too sure about 9 though.

I liked 9 along with 7 and 8, but I msu tadmit I hear of many people saying how great 10 was, and for me it didnt do it, it was boring and very linear as Glovner said. It got really old running from point A to point B, than fighting, than cut scene, than running from point A to B and than doing it all over again. I will admit though I did enjoy both of the Kingdom Hearts games. And The was the game I tried quickly once called Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, weird name but the game seemed great.
