Guess which game gets the ten...

FNR3 I heard I think?

Insane anyway for a game of which everyone says story mode sucks but okay.

Was there a story in FNR3? Guess my preview copy sucks. :P

Anyway, I don't think a magazine should give TEN's to games. Certainly not to FNR3 when there's Ubi's GR:AW or Bethesda's Oblivion.

There's something fishy about this...

Yeah it's FNR that gets the ten... Some subscribers cancelled their subscription already over at the Xbox.com forums ;)

A ten implies there will be no better games anywhere soon. That's a disgrace towards games like Gears of War, Oblivion, GR:AW, SCDA and other great games up for release the coming 6 months.

Stupid GoW fanboy, there's not that much footage available and you're already drooling.:*

But there's a Fight Night demo so if according to OXM GRAW will be worse than that you'll get a good view of what GRAW will be like, quality-wise.

personally, i dont think a sports game deserves a 10, anytime, anyplace. dont get me wrong, i play football for my high school, but i find sports games to be...WAY TOO REPETITIVE. maybe i'm alone on this one, i have no idea.

10 is definitely over the top. Sure they could acknowledge that it's one of the best looking games ever, but it's boxing for heaven's sake, the sport itself has very little depth and the FNR3 career mode is nothing special.

What score did they give Oblivion, out of interest?

GRAW deserves a 10 without a question
Oblivion a 10- because it has too often the loading area screen and frame drops

GRAW does not deserve a 10 because it's not flawless. Giving a game a 10 is a huge deal because no other game will be ever able to top that, it's the highest grade you can give and should really be perserved for that perfect game that is made once per 3 years or so imho.

I got fightnight and I love it, but a 10? A 10??? It doesn't even deserve a 10 in the graphical department!

"But Neejoh, why do you say that, it looks AWESOME!"
^ Yes, it really does... But there is so much to fix...
When a fighter goes down you can clearly see that the cloth (well, his huge boxers :+) are way too static and slice right through his legs... The same thing with the slomo when you KO some loser, the arms and gloves slice right through eachother.
Next up is the hair. Between rounds the chicks (those bodies are awesome :9~) do their thing to announce which round is about to start. It's all cool, except for the hair! That looks sooo ugly and low poly. I'm a 3D artist myself (always wanted to say that :D) and I know that hair is one of the hardest things to make, especially for a game engine, but COM'ON! Lara Croft in Tomb Raider 1 had better hair!
Last thing I want to spit out is the environmental maps. At first glance it looks pretty ok because your attention is drawn to the fight -as it should-, but when a fighter goes down and you have some time to check out the outside of the ring, you’ll be so scared you want to call your mommy… Com’on, that just a simple animated environmental skybox! For the n00bs, a simple box with animated pictures on it, with a loooooooooot of motion blur that will trick you in thinking that there is actually something there…

The story mode is nothing more than a couple of fights stringed together with a couple of simple “mini games” you can do to build up your fighter. It’s ok but way to less variation.

Enough, enough, enough…. Now I’m starting to doubt if I actually still like this game ;) Hehe j/k, I really do like this one.
And for those who think boxing isn’t a sport, F you… Once you start a “split screen” multiplayer with some mates of you, you’ll get it. It is a pretty tactical sport, and everybody fights different.
The single player isn’t all that great, pretty ok but definitely not worth a 10. Over Xbox live it’s even worse (strange settings..) but when you do a split screen multiplayer the roof will be on fire :9
I say it should have a 7.5 or an 8 out of 10!

I think i'd at least give it a 9, but no 10.
