Don't get me wrong I appreciate the beauty of XBox Live (I have a gold account myself) and the ability to download demos and arcade stuff, but even as a 20 minute blast I would not sit down to play lumines over and above the likes of Dead Rising, table tennis or the mighty (fingers crossed) Pro Evo 6....just my opinion tho.....anyone agree/disagree?

I'm not really sure how it compares to the PSP version. My friend owns it and he let me try it and it's actually a pretty good puzzle game since i'm a big fan of tetis.

:/ Oh, to me everything was great. It's just the demo was alittle to limited since you have to buy 2 packages to get all the features. But from what i played it was great.

I think the packs will cost 600mp. Not exactly sure though.
Just be sure you buy the "Base pack" first.

But what if someone only plays arcade games? I mean they are in HD 720p/1080i now, and after the update 720p upscaled to 1080p and probably 1080p native games. Imagine those on the big ass TV with 5.1 surround. That's next gen history man there.

I downloaded the trial version of Lumines and then I needed to do some work downstairs on the comp., so I gave the controller to my girlfriend. Instantly I couldn't communicate normally anymore to her and I went down. I've heard nothing since then while she normally asks if I want thee if I work overhere...

And I left her with about 1800 marketplace points on my account ready to be taken... What do you guys think? I think I'm screwed by my girl by now and it didn't give me any pleasure yet

I wouldn't say it was fucking crap but it certainly isn't all it's made out to be.
This is a rather dodgy puzzler with hip visuals and some nice sonics. All fur coat and no knickers.
I wouldn't climb over Astropop to get to Lumines, is what I'm saying.
And the cost of it is outrageous.

I've seen worse though. Usually versions of Tetris.

It's great, it's too easy to compare it to Tetris but basically it's like that. Yes you can sit there and go "all style no substance" but there are actually a lot of complexities to it in terms of going for the big combos etc.

I firmly disagree with the aggressive pricing of the other game modes though. Challenge and timed mode is enough for me.

Visuals are extremely ramped up from the PSP version, I was expecting a dull translation but it uses HD to its full effect. And there are some new backgrounds, the "take a dog for a walk" background is REALLY freaky...
