What Xbox 360 system did you buy?

Did you buy the Core or Platnium Xbox 360?
I bought the core system because at the time i got it, it was really hard to find and i happen to run into the last core system at a k-mart down the street. I didn't really care about how the tounge of the DVD drive looked. Even though i paid extra for everything (Hard drive, memory card unit) since i bought it separately. when you can get it all for $399 plus tax and don't you get a wireless controller?

Got mine about a week or two after the release (Around the release of Ninja Gaiden Black; not sure when that was, but I think that's right).

It was epic. It was like the freaking apocalypse outside, with thunder, lightning, really bad fog and sleet/snow. My godfather sat in traffic for two hours, and got the last one at Costco (actually very luckily, because the guy before him wanted to buy two, but the lady at the register wouldn't let him). I owe him big for that.

Premium 360, with an extra wireless controller, play and charge battery kit, and PGR3.

Fate was on my side that day, yes it was. =D

I was one of the people that waited from 8pm till 9pm at target because gamestop called me and told me that I was not one of the lucky ones to get my preorder in time but I waited and got the premium on day one after 13 hours of waiting and I already had PD0, COD, CONDEMED, MADDEN, PGR3 it was cold but I had my xbox 360 day 1

I got my premium about 4 months ago as a wedding gift from my (at the time) fiance (now wife) with King Kong (was included for free), CoD2, Halo 1 & 2, and a extra wireless controller. I gave her a laptop. Fair trade if you ask me since I use her laptop more than she does (I'm typing this message on it) and she doesn't go anywhere near the 360. :p

Couldn't get a premium for love nor money ended up getting a core after about a month after release and got a memory card and PGR3(why I bought one in the first place!). Game were doing these bullshit £500 packages with 4 games and other bits and at first that was the only way you could buy one here.

Premium on day one, although I had a 300 mile trek to get it... I was first to pre-order in my local games shop and then on Nov 30th they rang me and said "I'm sorry, we didn't get enough in stock" (translate: all our staff have got their dirty hands on them first). Thankfully I had a friend who worked in a Game store on the other side of the country, and his store had one going spare, so I was up before dawn to get there and back... AND I still had to go to work when I got back, sitting there with my Xbox 360 saying "play me, play me" :(

Was quite a fun day... I had loads of people coming up to me asking where I'd managed to find one, and offering me cash for it... one guy offered to go to a cashpoint and get me £700 for it... I said no :P

In fact I was at TWO launch days, because I was on holiday in Toronto when the 360 came out over there, obviously they were all sold out (although one guy was trying to preorder a PS3, which I found really funny for some reason). I did buy a couple of wireless controllers though, because they were a lot cheaper than over here, so I had two controllers about a month before I got my hands on the console :P

here's my story...

i camped for 14 hours outside of CompUSA...it was 33 degrees, one away from freezing...i had to pee out back of the building...one guy went to 7-11 and got taquitos for all of us...i was the only one with the launch issue of xbox magazine so everyone was crowded around...the guy in line behind me had a taser (for real) in case anyone tried to steal his xbox or cut in line...i almost got the cashiers phone number...the store GAVE us 2 huge containers of coffee and let us keep them overnight...there were only 12 of us and 12 xbox's, by morning there were about 100 people, still 12 xbox's...i got voucher #4...got a premium and COD2...november 22, 2005. i didnt buy another game until august 22 2006. i liked cod2 a lot, if you cant tell. this was also my record for time with absolutely no sleep at all - 29 hours. now i hardly get to play it because im so busy.

Mine just got shipped off and I've been told it'll be from 10-60 (!!!) days. This weekend has been rough, as it's a long weekend (I'm in Canada so Monday is Rememberance Day -- stat holiday). Hopefully once I'm back at work during the week I won't get the shakes as I go without my daily Xbox fix. :)

I actually fired up my PC and played some Unreal Tournament for the first time in about 5 months. Poor substitute if there ever was one. :'(
