Importing - Can I do that?

Sony declined to comment directly on the case. However, a spokesperson did tell GI.biz: "The law is clear; grey importing PS2, PSP or PS3 into the EU, without the express permission of SCE is illegal. Therefore, we will utilise the full scope of the law to put a stop to any retailers who chose to do this

Ok, couple things here.
1) What is grey importing?
2) Has this effected any potential importers, using lik-sang?

I have no idea how they want to screw up importing through legislation, because as long as you comply to tax laws there is no reason whatsoever why you couldn't bring a product from country A to country B.

Except for products which are legal in country A are illegal in country B. But I dont think that will be the case with the PS3

They forced Play Asia to stop exporting PSP stuff when Play Asia was selling Japanese PSPs before US launch ;( AFAIK P-A still doesn't export PSP stuff ;(

But that's not because it's illegal, that's because Sony blackmails them by threatening not to ship them anything anymore if they don't jump when Sony says so. Slight difference. If something legal is involved actually I'd love it if someone could explain me.

Well I can see why Sony is annoyed by imports. It screws up their yearly earnings (SCEE will get 20% less PS3 sales if a lot of people import for instance).

Of course, that's why we have region locks etc. Still doesn't make it law tho.

if u can find the games or actual console go for it but watch ur weight and they are really pissy i mean really pissy at Shanghi airport they went through my bag cos of my psp so yeah plus the PS3 will way a ton
