XBL gamercard sourcing

Curry - followed link to your site have trawled through pages of post for days until I found one you posted regarding gamercards for this forum - knowing your coding experience you obviously worked out how to incorporate a script into your forums and they look great.

I'm trying to get the same info for my ladder player profile pages using the code supplied by ardamis (http://www.ardamis.com/2006/08/15/custom-xbox-360-gamertag-and-halo-2-stats-sig/).

Just wanting to know is this what you based your script on or being the expert you developed your own scripts? The guy from ardamis gave me some hints to make some changes to his code to access the info from my database and to amend some code - if you can point me in the right direction would be much appreciated...

I actually used Consti's script (http://consti.de/external/gamercard/) at first, but it turned out slightly buggy and badly programmed so I restarted and made it far more flexible. It's currently running as a proper vBulletin plugin including heavy caching to keep page load speeds up to par :)

I'm not sharing the code itself (it's embedded in our site structure too deeply anyway), but I will gladly help you out with some pointers if need be. This topic is open for questions should you want to :)

I'm also trying to get into the Xbox Community Developer Program so we can tap into the original XML feeds directly from MS instead of parsing the gamercards. That would supply much more info and be a lot faster, but unfortunately they stopped registration for that at 50.

Thanks for the information - pity Xbox don't open up the developers list or at least some open source information as it would only expand their market share.

Not being a coder I think I may give up at this point :? I'm a designer by trade so unless someone spoon feeds me with script I'm useless...

If your up for a paid job working on some messy PHP ladder code let me know?
