It doesnt have removeable batteries like the 360 pad so in theory they will die and u will have to buy a new pad... Sony said if that problem does occur they will replace or fix but they took about 4/5 months to fix my md player so doesnt fill me with confidence what do people think???

You can always use the USB cable I think. And I don't have any experience with Sony's customer service :P

kinda defeats the point of a wireless controler and also could make its rather weak tilt function even harder

I agree, but coughing up another $50 sucks too.

Wow what are the odds; Sony commented on this issue today:

"[...]This is a purely speculative story and is largely untrue. The latest generation of Lithium Polymer batteries hardly suffer any memory effect at all, so it'll be many years before there's any degradation in terms of battery performance."

The spokesperson went on to confirm, "When and if this happens, then of course we will be providing a service to exchange these items."

My laptop had a Sony Lithium Polymer battery and after a year it most certainly had degraded to about half capacity.

Good thing Sony screwed up and Dell replaced my battery for free :+

You should meet my sister, you would make a great couple. Especially to watch when you play computer games!

She can't sit still, and makes things fall of tables she jumps so hard!

She isn't fat though, strangely!

On the subject though: compared to "Dual Shock" I must say "Sixaxis" is really a hopelessly crap name :X

The controller charges via USB.

Man, I am scared to pick up anything that has a SONY battery in it. Watch out, YOUR CONTROLLER MIGHT EXPLODE!

I kept my old laptop battery as spare backup for emergency situations tho. And I'll just sue Sony if it explodes :+

Trust me, you don't want any experience with their Customer Support.

They are about as good as their current Marketing Department.:X
