When you guys called up Microsoft to replace your Xbox 360s, did they send a box to you, or a prepaid mailing sticker to stick on your own box?

Are they expecting me to pay for shipping? Because she didn't say anything about them sending a box to me.

They gave me an address to send my xbox to, and when I asked if it was free or not, she said it was....

I just wondered how the whole process works since I haven't had to send my Xbox 360 in ever.

I'm in America, so it might be a little different if you live somewhere else. I'm not sure

In the Netherlands they send you the UPS-sticker by email, which you can then print out and put on a self-supplied box. You can then call UPS to come pick it up, or deliver it yourself if (like me) you live like 5 mins from the closest distribution center.

I found out today that they changed this policy last week and are now making people pay for shipping. (figures)

I'm not really sure how much it's going to cost because I'm thinking that i'll really need insurance on it to make sure nothing gets fucked up.

I'm hoping that I can get them to wave the shipping somehow when I call again tonight.

Don't you get free shipping&repairs since your unit is from launch batch?

That's ridiculous. So they admit to high returns on the launch machines by offering free repairs (great move) and then they screw you over by making you pay for repairing their damn mistakes?

They wouldn't be able to tell me off with that on the phone, I'd rip them a new one verbally.

It really sucks, I think I'll call in a few minutes and post what happens.

So I called again, and spoke to this guy. He says that they don't even have the option, and they haven't for the past month. Right as Microsoft says they'll repair consoles I'd say. Sounds convenient.

Fucking sucks.
No, they won't reimburse me for paying either.

Tell them you cancelling Live, buying a PS3 with the trade-in money from the 360. And telling all your friends to do the same.

I feel like writing a very nasty frontpage article about this.

Curry, do it! DO IT! PLEASE!

We'll digg it, and maybe something will change if it gets a bunch of hits.

Well I suppose it sucks then mate so wish you good luck getting it fixed , but if its the same everywhere maybe you will get another hard drive and get a profit from that somehow ?
