Well the fall dashboard update is due very soon, I've heard within the next two weeks. I cant find any info on what additions/fixes will be made so what would you like to see included in the update?

I personally would like to see additional iPod support so that when I connect my iPod to the 360 I can listen to more than just my podcasts :'( At the moment all my downloaded music and music from CD's doesnt get recognised. I know its to do with supported file formats so thats one thing I'd like to see added, additional audio format support.

Yes Private Group chat and group video chat.
The option to Block and Unblock those on your Friends list individually similar to MSN so that some people can see you're online and some people wont.
The option to change video effects in a game. Like what you can do in video chat with the black and white, green, blurry stuff. If you could apply the same video effects whilst in a game of UNO or other video stuff would be fun.
I'd still like to see a way of having my face as a main gamerpic. I know they can't do that because of what people might see, but still if there was an option to pay 400gamerpoints for a main face gamerpic that would get proofed by MS support first would be even better...

Thats sounds good, I think we should be allowed to upload a custom gamerpic from our PC's(and Macs :P ) via the xboxlive site. Like you say though they would more than likely charge microsoft points for that as it would make all the other gamerpics on the marketplace redundant.

I hope we get an option that lets us have the six pieces of content downloading at once, and then turn off automatically when they're all done. There's been too many times that I want to download a demo or other content but can't stay and stare at it for an hour. I also don't feel like leaving my console on for 5 hours straight. It'd be just nice if the content was downloaded and ready for me when I got home.

I do NOT want my movies to be stretched, I want to view the movie how it was intended to be viewed by the director. Most action movies are 2.35:1 nowadays so that leaves some black bars as well.

Bars on the top and bottom are ok. Thats how it is for so many years now (watching 16:9 movie on a 4:3 tv) but the bars on the side look like shit in my opinion. I'd rather lose some movie on top and bottom then watch a small screen. But that's just me :P

and Genesis emulator.

ps i know the emulator isnt happening, i just thought it would be cool. please dont think im stupid or something.

I think the Genesis could be a possibility, simply because it could be released to other consoles and not just the Xbox 360. They could sell it as a disc and let you browse through Sega servers through Xbox Live for old games or something similar to that. It would only work until you signed off of Xbox Live. You'd then have to sign back on to use the service again.

Maybe something like that.

Mpeg4 support in the media extender. Acctually I wouldn't mind having a lot more options in the extender. It certainly lacks the function of the real Media PC. I guess that is why it is called an extender.

It's been said but group chat! I'm sick of in game kiddies screaming in my ear when I have a couple of friends in a game and Mute doesn't work properly all the time. They really need to do something about 12 year olds ruining online gaming.

I can dream but how about breaking mpcc (or whatever) rules and allowing higher res over component for DVDs

I like this idea, along with the iPod ideas. I'd like to see a few better bands on Artist of the Month but beggars can't be choosers. ;)

I also like the custom gamerpic idea. That'd be really cool.

Something that may be a ways out and possibly far-fetched - Instead of just a picture, possibly have 10 or 15 second video for a gamerpic?!

I am hoping that the latest update stops people that have altered their DVD Firmware to play copied games have their Gamertags made redundant by Live.

These people are the same people that are glitching games like PGR3 etc, and possibly a reason why developers don't put that much effort into making games these days, also why us genuine people seem to get stiffed on pricing issues.

A game can be appreciated more if it is bought legit.

When I connect my ipod to the 360 all that shows up are the podcasts. Any downloaded music or songs taken from CD and put onto the ipod are unable to be played for some reason.

Then you need to download the optional i-pod support patch from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

I really really wonder if they will..... the "problem" is essentially still "contained", a mere few percent of the market at most. They may accept that as "free advertisers and at least not PS3 buyers" instead of fighting them.

Depends what "glitches" you are talking about in PGR3.

The only one I have experienced is when someone in the room is "Bridging" through a laptop or PC.

Essentially they are hosting the room by everyones IP's going through their PC and them not putting the IP's into their firewalls "allowed" files so when the flick a switch everything that is not allowed on the firewall (i.e. your IP) is kicked from the room.

Which has the result of making it look to you as if everyone has left the race but in actual fact it is you that has left the "main" race and so don't benefit from any league standing points but actually get a penalty from effectively quitting early from the race.

Happened a few times to me but if you know what to look for just send in a complaint.

It's quite hard to spot who's doing it so after you have it happen keep a note of the guys in the room with you and if your are with any of them again (they usually do it in groups as you need to finish with at least four players to get anything from it) see if happens again if so, you have just been bridged.

I have someone on my Friendslist that has got the game already. He got it yesterday and aparrently works for a retail game company. Nothing can prove him wrong otherwise, he has 60 points for the game already in his achievments list.

Yes, I am well aware of that, I always order from Gameplay and pay the 99p first class delivery and get my games 1 day before release.

I have heard from another of my friends on my list, he confirms that the Review is everything to go by, he has also told me that Game are selling the game now, because someone else has already broke the street date, so they have been told that they can sell it. I cannae confirm this, but this is where he said he got the game from and that is what the employee told him(you know how dumb Game employees can be!!). He is taking it back tomorrow when his order from gameplay arrives.

Great, a webbrowser without a mouse or keyboard, that has to be updated weekly to prevent viruses taking over our game console if we know Microsoft's reputation with webbrowsers. Apart from that, a browser is useless without a big cache, so a harddrive would be mandatory.

Yeah I'd like to see a browser in there, not because I can use my laptop for that - but I like extra features of personal choice, where it can be used if I want to every now and again. I remember getting a Dreamcast years ago and that had a browser, thought it was EXCELLENT until I realised it didnt let you in chat rooms, couldnt use javascript, didn't play flash files...but technology has come on a long way - if my T-Mobile MDAII Phone can have a full flash, java enabled browser then Im sure this can...

I'm simply saying that personally I dont want features on my 360 that I wouldnt use. I dont want a web browser because I have a PC which provides a better browsing service/experience than a console ever could for example. Also I'm not to bothered about streaming media from my PC to my 360 either, It less hassle to just use my DVD player, HDTV and surround sound system. I just dont want 'my' 360 to duplicate things that I already have as its pointless to me. My 360 is purely a games machine, anything that enhances the gaming experience is what I'm after. I would like enhanced iPod support so that I can listen to most of my music library whilst playing games.

No because I said I want to listen to my iPod through my 360 whilst playing GAMES. The only reason I connect my ipod to my PC is to charge it up and download music, totally different to why I use it on the 360.

If you connect an iPod to the 360 at the moment it works the same as if you had ripped a CD to the hard drive. It cuts out in game music and plays from the iPod, My PC doesnt do that, plus I dont play games on my PC. The only problem is the 360 only supports certain file formats so most of my ipod music library is redundant except for podcasts etc.

I want a browser.
stream from the pc all movie formats without media centre.
Like the ability for me to mark all marketplace content as viewed so it does show up as newly released for two whole weeks.
Something like a RSS newsfeed reader on the main dashboard page, scroll a list of news items, about marketplace content, events and competitions. With the ability to filter.
Would like the dashboard to ignore animations if waiting to display something (e.g. when going back to the dashboard from a arcade title with the cam plugged in, you have to wait for the background animation to finish sorting itself out before it will finish displaying the dashboard).
conferencing, say upto 8 people, this includes the use of cams and headsets.
Some system stats like temperature of the various bits, fans speeds etc.
Would also like the friends list to have groups, so you can catagorise your friends.
Last but not least a flawed press X to add more ms points without actually charging my CC.

I'm simply saying that personally I dont want features on my 360 that I wouldnt use.

I don't care what features they add so long as they don't get in the way. If "WebBrowser" was just one more tab in the dash, doesn't bother me any (doubt I'd ever use it, as I only have SDTV, not HDTV, but the point is it doesn't get in the way of the things I *do* do with the Xbox).

As for things I'm hoping for, the ability to play DivX files is at the top of the list. I can do this now from my PC as it has TV-out, but it would be nice to not have to turn on my loud P4 to watch a TV show I downloaded. Even if MS doesn't want to allow you to stream a video file from a non media center PC, at least let us burn a DVD with some DivX files on it and throw that into the Xbox.

Downloading interface could be vastly improved. Would be nice to be able to move a download up or down in the list rather than just move it to the top. Often I start downloading a big demo, then as I continue to browse the marketplace I decide to download a few smaller files like picture packs & the like. Would be nice to be able to say "okay download all the small files first, then work on that 1GB demo".

I'd also like to see it get easier to move out of menus. Particularly when doing things that have a deep menu depth (like playing a song from a PC), you have to hit B a million times to get back to the dashboard. You can hit the center button and then Y to go back to the dashboard, but it's slow. The animation of moving from one screen to another is nice, but it definitely slows down the process of backing out of menus.

The ability to see the size of music on the hard drive as well would be nice. I always keep a bit of music on the Xbox itself for those times when I travel with it, but I have no idea how much space is being used by it. If you go to Music in the Memory section of the System tab, all that comes up is the warning about how you're about to delete all your music.

User-specified/created gamerpics would be nice too. They could even make money off of this: create a section in the marketplace for user-created gamerpics, and charge say 5 or 10 MS points or something for downloading them. Would go to cover the costs of policing the content, and then whatever's on top of that they could pocket.

Okay I'm done now (finally). :P

One more thing I forgot: the ability to create our own dashboard themes would be very nice. Since we can set any picture we want as the background, why can't we also create our own "skins" for the panels & such?

While this wouldn't necessarily need to be a part of the fall update, I would like to see some more HD content like full length movies and TV shows. I don't mind having to pay for it, and I think it would be an easy addition to the marketplace. They could even start of with the new Battlestar Galactica since they've already got content on Live.

There is an option to connect your ipod to the 360 via usb at the moment, this exchanges the ingame music for the music on the ipod but leaves all the games sound effects which play as normal. So you can play any game with your own choice of music. It also sounds alot better through a full surround sound system rather than headphones. I would just like more audio file support thats all.

(Note.. Doesnt matter now anyway as my 360 has died, got the 3 red light of death on Saturday. Im well pi$$ed off, looks like I've got to send it back for repair :-( )

OK, this is rather technical for me, but could this be a possibility?

Could I say, download a gametrailer from... gametrailers.com or IGN in WMV (WVM? - What ever MS wants us to use) and play them on my 360, without downloading any extra things? (I already have windows media connect.)
