i was just wondering if the calls from the British govt. bout the game increasing bullying was true or not ;)
but no i am not
i have no money so no point

Those calls are total bullshit, one of the tips in the tutorial explicitly tells you not to bully people because it gets you in trouble. The only people I (wanted to) beat up so far are the actual bullies.
It plays really well, the fighting is fun and there's a fuckload of things to do. Really nice atmosphere too.

I must admit that Canis Canem Edit never appealed to me really. Apart from being quite close to the bone for me, I just think it'd have no sense of fun to it.

No sense of fun? Dude this is GTA: Summer school! :D It's a really fun game really.

Without the shooting tho I think? :+
Still I think most of the protests are more fueled by crusades against Rockstar from idiots like our pal Jack than any actual looking at the game. I'm surprised they didn't complain about Table Tennis.

well they probably didnt realize it will be the game engine for the next GTA ;)

how about educating parents not to buy games for kids that they are not supposed to be playing. But then some parents are complete push overs and will do anything their kids tell em. Looks to me like the game ships in the UK with a 15 certificate, so its not even a guideline but a rule.
I hate the entire "ooo we cant trust people to do the right thing, so we must do it for them" attitude. Makes me sick.

Besides it's such pathetic targetting. Arnie shooting up a zillion Russians on the big screen is fine, but doing it in a computer game would be an incentive to pick up a gun yourself and do it?
Get real :z If a kid picks up a gun and shoots up the neighbourhood he's nuts, not the game he's played. I'm a firm supporter of the opposing theory that games actually keep kids busy that would otherwise be bored on the streets wrecking cars and shooting up schools.
And last but not least: if you don't want kids to go postal, stop selling guns to everyone who can hold one. I wouldn't know how to get a gun here in the Netherlands, and surprisingly we never have any school shootings. Take away the means first I say.

I'm not sure where you get that idea. You can't even own a gun until you're 18, and even then you have to have this 3 or 4 day background check or something. I wouldn't know because I don't have a gun. You can't just go to the local gas station and see a bucket-o-guns and take one out to buy with your candy bars. People saying everyone has a gun in America is like me saying everyone in NL has aids and is high on Marijuana constantly.

They keep the bucket-o-guns out back by the dumpster. quite a wide selection.
ON a serious note, i think that in the US there is an issue with th gun owners thinking that their stock pile is secured or locked up enough that their kids or others won't be able to get access. That and the ones that are a problem have a zillion guns.
I know when i was a kid, i knew where one of the keys to the gun cabinet was, and would peek in there every once in awhile cuz thats were some of the x-mas presents were hid.
put thats just my opinion.

I'm not saying everyone has a gun in America, I said everyone can buy one. You're merely confirming that anyone who's 18+ and passed a 3~4 day background check can walk into a gun shop and purchase a rifle. That's 80% of the population, I think it's fair to round that up to "everyone". And like huricanelane confirms: not everyone who is allowed to have one consequently stores them in a locked down safe.
Let me put it otherwise: could you own a gun within a week if you had the money and wanted to?

I will if it ever comes out for the 360 or the Wii. Till then I can't. But this game does interest me a great deal.

If you don't have a criminal background, and you're over 18...yes.
We've got 10,000 deaths from guns every year, which is a lot. But do the numbers. This month, America hit 300,000,000 people. If everyone is so insane with guns here like we're living with cowboys and indians....Shouldn't the number actually be a little higher?
Of course you'll have the few dumbasses who go into schools and shoot up people, that just goes with having a population. You get people who are perfectly fine, and others who can't handle the responsibility. The whole country shouldn't have to make laws and rules based on 3% of the population.

10,000 deaths in 300m = USA
500 deaths in 60m = UK
If UK was multiplied by 5 the figure would still be vastly under that of the US. The UK Enforces a strict ban on the sale of firearms to everyone. Only guns that get sold are illegally purchased. I dunno about shotguns, but I think there are some very strict rules governing that also.
Chris

That means 8.3% of your population is causing the UK to have a ban something that 91.7% of your population can handle. That's what most of America tries not to do. Most try and keep a lot of the decisions up to the people. (Yes, we've got a dumb drug policy.)
If you let the government to decide that your country isn't grown up enough to ban this and ban that, doesn't it kind of make you feel like a child? The whole 'take away our gun, take away our freedom' crap stems from the fact that if we let government take the guns away, what will they take away next? Most of us don't really care about guns, we care what next ban will come next. What if the next thing they ban is Pepsi based on some government 'study'. "It's okay, the government says so!" The government will keep getting bigger and bigger if you let them.

And what better law to use for that then the gun law.8)7 If you want your freedom and are afraid of what they'll ban next, you shouldn't use this crazy law to defend your freedom. If the governement takes away the guns, what freedom do they take away? The freedom to kill someone who's tresspassing your property? That's the dumbest way I've ever heard to defend your freedom.. sorry for saying.. (it's not directed at you personaly chris)

If it's about something that can kill people and I would be the one guy who encounters one of the 8,3% that just snaps and want's shoot me, then yes I'm glad they banned guns because of those few idiots who cannot handle that responsabillity.
With drugs, you can only kill yourself.. you don't hurt inocent people with it.

'Fraid not. Smoking cannabis then going for a drive has killed quite a few. Plus, drugs cause stealing by desperate people who need money now, and costs lives when those people don't pay up. It's a viscious circle, and one I hope never to get involved in.
But yeah, Bully, w00t! I will play the game at some point, but November is going to be a busy month!
