Shame the new Sonic seems pretty awful, the first Sonic Adventure was a nice change of pace (plus the Dreamcast ruled) but generally it's just not as fun a game in 3D. The demo of the new Sonic, basically all you had to do was press Jump repeatedly to unleash a series of rubbish special moves (wtf is that "riding on the wind" bollocks?)

I've just noticed that Sonic Mega Collection is backwards-compatible, I'll probably just pick that up instead.

I don't like the RPG feel to it. After each mission you go back to a city (it's a diff city for sonic / silver / i presume shadow), and are able to talk to everyone like in an RPG. You find clues, and some new random missions around this town.

To get to each mission you go through magic mirrors like in Mario. You save a princess like in Mario.

The princess is straight out of Final Fantasy XII.


And the load scenes. :-( Oh the load scenes. I want to punch myself in the face each time it occurs.

Here's how it goes down:
You approach a civilian and talk to them. "Hey Sonic, my friends and I don't think you can save the princess, prove it to us by catching us all: Yes / No?"
Choose Yes.

Cut scene, in game graphics just like before when I accepted mission, all it says is like, "Sonic you have to catch us all before the time limit is up."

This is every mission. And I find my self continuosly thinking "I just want to run at super speed and collect some g**da** rings.

Graphics are great. Dialogue is a little retarded at times but I ignore that (I mean, I'm a fricking blue hedgehog saving a Japanese princess. I think I can handle retarded dialogue.).

Yes I bought the Sonic Mega Collection awhile ago - it works fine on the 360, and I too had the Dreamcast, the first sonic dreamcast game was excellent, but the 2nd version was rubbish.
