Here in the UK there's a store called GAME where I pre ordered from and they were giving out special packs to those that did it about the wii , just some info but still getting zelda as well n launch day ! ^_^

I did not get a Wii :(. I barely tried. I called places around 930pm last night, they had lines so all their midnight ones were claimed. Then I could have went to Target, but apparently some people were already there at 10pm when they closed last night, waiting for 8am today. I thought about it, I weighed the options while laying in bed with my alarm set for 3am...

And decided that trying + failing is a worse outcome than not trying + sleeping. :). So why try, if you can fail? I'll order one online asap and go with the slow, comfortable route of purchasing a Wii.

well a year ago a went to makro to and i was there from 5 o clock.. there is no cue line so the people that are the fastest to the xbox stand get one.. i was lucky but someone else who was there so early not.. so it was not really fear.

I didnt buy any games with the console but I got zelda on the way and my mate is staying at my house for three days, so he is bringing his 2 games red steel and wii play . :)

I wish you luck getting one it does not have games as immersive as the 360 has yet but the wiimote is a pleasure to use on wii sports and Im left handed.

Well I got one since launch day here in London and to be honest I havent touched it for a week and its not even to play new games but instead virtual console games!

I finished zelda and most of the quests plus warioware so nothing else I want besides sonic but that alone is a reason why I get a console like what happened with the 360. :P

If you can answer yes to all of these then I would think you might understand someone else's frustrations.
Honestly I blame most of this on Nintendo. And yes I own a 360 and yes Microsoft had the same problems the first 5-7 months it was launched but the Wii isn't the same caliber of console as the 360 in terms of hardware and costs so you would expect a much higher supply.

Well I got a Wii on launch day and I have to say Ive not used it for about 2 months. Its just not very good. Yeah the virtual console games are ok but thats it. I even got zelda but I stopped playing that too.

My 360 is just so much more fun. Xbox live online play, some good arcade games coming out at the moment, plus an awesome range of great retail games.

The Wii has fuck all good games. I bought Call of Duty 3 but that was just unplayable so I quit playing that after an hour. My character spent most of his time spinning around uncontrollably and looking at the sky. Anyway I proceeded to buy CoD3 on the 360 and it kicked ass. The Wii version was so pathetic in comparison.

Just so you know I love Nintendo and I love Microsoft, its just the Wii in my opinion is a pile of shite. (oh, and I fucking hate Sony, the robbing bastards).

Yeah I gave it to a family member who I know loves Nintendo stuff. I think the wii is on a lower level in comparison to the PS3 and Xbox360. Its not a great leap forward and seems way too kiddish for me to be bothered with.

Well yeah, It IS on another level. It's also on another level pricewise. You do realize that I paid that exact amount (249.99USD) for the PSP as well? I mean in some ways, I can see it as a shit system, but in another sense you've got a pretty sweet compact little Nintendo machine.

I personally think they should come out with a standard controller that goes alongside with the Wiimote other than the VC controller. Maybe I don't feel like swinging my arms today. Maybe I just feel like joysticks and sitting.

For us gamers who are already hardwired to think we control a video game a certain way; there's a steep learning curve and it feels awkward sometimes for a while. Sometimes I think too hard about how to control something because that's what I'm used to. For someone new to gaming though, this seems like the perfect entry level machine.

I was all stoked about getting a Wii. I kept reading amazing things about the Wii. Finally, I got my Wii...now I am having problems getting rid of my Wii while trying to break even.

I am impressed that Nintendo was able to take a Gamecube and repackage it with a fancy stick and sell it for so much money. But I do fear for the lasting appeal of the Wii. The console is a great game machine for those who do not like games. The problem with non gamers is that they do not buy games.

I will post my Wii in the local paper this weekend, trying to offload the unit for what I paid, and maybe take a little loss, but use that money for Xbox 360 games that I know I will play (or maybe even a PS3, so I can watch Blu-Ray movies.....I am addicted to HD)
