A must see at the cinema on your own or not.

A little tip as well get a good seat, i have been twice now to see it at the cinema(first time i have ever done that) and the first time i was 3 rows back from the front, the second time in the middle of the cinema and the 3D effect was definitely better from the middle.
That only counts for non digital IMAX screens, so if you watch normal reel IMAX or digital realD or any other 3D fair enough, but there is no better way to watch it than IMAX digital 3D. Pity there are only 4 digital IMAX screens in the entire country.. Greenwich (where i work), Wimbledon, Gateshead (where Bloboss works) and somewhere else up north. So if you didn't go to one of those 4 cinemas, you didn't get the FULL experience, you got close. But not the full works. Trust me i've seen the difference between our digi IMAX and standard IMAX.

I have heard rumours that Milton Keynes(very near me) maybe getting a IMAX cinema, i would guess they would get the full beans as they usually do in MK.

I would love to see ANY film in ANY Imax cinema, as i have far better quality picture/audio at home than any cinema i have ever been too, that really pisses me off, especially the audio, which is atrocious in every cinema i have been to.

PS. Do IMAX cinema's get comfortable seats as well?, coz that would be a bloody good bonus worth paying for.

It all depends man. Our IMAX has a standard part, premier seats and a gallery at the back, so you can have normal seats, slightly better ones, or leather double seats, up to you. Plus our gallery is 20 quid a ticket, and unlimited non alcoholic drinks and popcorn, nachos and such. Not bad. Seeing as you are such a film fanatic, i strongly suggest coming and checking out the IMAX at my cinema (greenwich) people come to us from all over London for our IMAX, and hey, ever know, seeing as your a forum person, i MIGHT be able to get you a free ticket.... Not to gallery though.

Might take you up on that one day, although Greenwich is along way for me to come and watch a film, i will have to wait till a film that i REALLY want to see comes out.

Leather seats and beer though sounds like a recipe for falling asleep

Well I checked out moon this weekend when I saw that it was on zune marketplace. Ive read you guys reviews on it so I thought id give it a watch. It was pretty good..there for a sec I was alittle confused as what was happening but the story is well told and makes things clear. I liked the monitor on the robot with the animated faces that was funny. Also checked out district 9 I thought it was ok at times to.

Watched Legion yesterday.

My god it's bad, on a monumental scale.

 spoiler:
They can't even be bothered to tell you why the child is the saviour of mankind, really is quite a important point as the whole plot is based on saving that baby.

Just avoid.

1/10 it really is awful.

Just finished watching The Hurt Locker (on Blu-Ray). Can't believe I missed that when it first came out, it was awesome.

I saw this film a long time ago, it had a fair amount of good reviews and hype back then, so I was expecting a good film. Unfortunatley I found it to be slow and ponderous crap. Why on earth it won best film oscar is totally beyond me, maybe the oscar voters didn't want a film that is almost entirely made inside a computer winning best film, whatever Hurt Locker IMHO is utter pants.

Having said all that i watched From Paris With Love the other night, now as long as you remove your brain before watching it is a enjoyable OTT action flick.

A solid 7 out of 10.

Ah I dunno, I thought it was pretty engaging. I have to say I only picked it up because of the Oscars as I hadn't heard of it before. Perhaps not as good as the hype, but still good.

Saw Alice in Wonderland in IMAX 3D and it was great! I loved it. We also rented The Hurt Locker which I thought was also a great movie.

I saw alice in wonderland in Imax as well, alot of people didn't really rate the movie, but I really enjoyed it. The Hurt Locker is amazing, but didn't deserve the 6 or 7 oscars it won, both that and avartar were far over hyped.

I did enjoy seeing avatar in 3d, but the story struck me as a little dull and the charcters had no depth, nt overly bad....but everyone seems to rate it as the greatest film ever.... :/

I didn't think Alice In Wonderland was that great. I feel like the dark style Tim Burton was hoping for was hit in a few scenes but then would make me cringe in the next when something that would make a 2 year old laugh happened and the actor who played Alice was meh but still wasn't horrible, I'd give it a 7/10. I also thought Avatar was severely overrated. The special effects, which were outstanding, didn't add anything new to the stage and the plot was obscenely generic for how popular it was, I'd give it a 7/10 Oh yea give this a read, it's hilarious http://www.thefunnyblog.org/wp-conte...pocahontas.jpg

Saw that a while back, its so true. I work at one of the only 4 digital IMAX cinemas in the UK, so obviously Avatar was and still is a huge win for us money wise. But the amount of people i told that it is simply pocahontas with aliens, even just on shift today... Crazyness.

And yes.. Welcome!

I work at one of the other 4 digial IMAX screens, and Avatar was extremly popular, utter chaos. Both Alice in Wonderland & HTTYD together are nowhere near as popular.

Speaking of HTTYD, i saw that the other day, and despite my first impressions of it being a kiddys film i really enjoyed it, apart form annoying children screaming in the screen
