Ok, I've had my 360 for about a week now and I'm going to be connecting to Live for the first time in a bit.

Only games I own at the moment:

Fight Night Round 3 (muahah 1000/1000)
GR:AW
NCAA

Just wondering... I'm going to have to DL the update that kills 360's right? Will it blow mine up? ;[ lol

And when I get mine up and running, I'm going to have to get a new game to play online and rape the members of Xboxic.

Yes, you are going to have to download the updates. If they actually brick your 360 or not is another matter. If they do, you'll just have to ring the MS helpline.

Wooo awesome have fun on xbox live and I dont think theres any danger of it becoming a brick because the update has been redefined I think.

The update that was bricking consoles has now been fixed, so you will have no trouble there. Just enjoy your experience with Live, and make sure you buy GoW!
