Xbox 360 camera

Morning people. Just need some advice etc. I am going to pick up a copy of
R6 Vegas today....I was considering getting the live camera and need to know a few things.

1. Has anyone else got it, if so is it any good?
2. What exectly can it do?
3. How easy is it to map your own face into a game?
4. Is is worth getting basically.

I have the camera and it's definitely worth getting. Mapping your face is via a very nice interface and it's simply a case of taking 3 shots from different angles. The camera is capable of motion sensing like the iToy, although I think there is only 1 Live Arcade game utilising this at present (more to come).

You take the 3 shots with the 360 camera and it's like one of those passport photo booths where you position yourself on screen between the marks and then take the shot. You accept the shot only when you're happy with it. Dead easy mate. I think you can pick them up for 24.99 in some places now.

I picked up the Vision Camera Bundle on Amazon for $10. :-P

Any idea of any real games coming up that will utilize it? I would think that all sports games would've jumped at the iea of putting your face on a player.

I bought the camera a while ago, and it's an awesome piece of kit for a very reasonable price. I havn't had much time to use it properly, as in face mapping etc, but it's definately worth a buy. It can be used on pc's too.

I believe that it can be used on a PC. Just hook the one you purchased up to the PC, and you will find out.

On vista it needs a driver work around though. Dont work instantly.
Plug in, find drivers manually from list on computer and choose microsoft video or camera device. It doesn't work straight away otherwise like it does on XP

I just got it the other day and thought it was ok, but there isn't enough stuff to warrant a purchase of it IMO. The only reason I got it was because the starter kit was $15 more than a year of live with it.

Theres plenty of arcade games that use the camera to see other gamers which is it's only worthwhile usage...but try Totemball !!! that is fucking sad.

Lol I got tired of holding my arms up in the air and waving them around like a retard in totem ball. The only reason I got the camera is because I found the camera bundled with a year of live for only $60. I figured eh wtf it's only 10 bucks.

it is fun with Rainbowsix but now I have met a lot of jerks making fun of my pics ... honestly since I don't really base my personal self worth on their opinions it is fun to jerk with people.

One of the best reasons for owning the vision camera is the face mapping in R6, truly awesome my character model could only be me. The result even though the process is fiddly is jaw dropping.

I first saw face mapping long before R6:Vegas in World Series of Poker, and it's kinda weird seeing a rather zombie looking version of me in a cheap suit sat at a table.

In R6 I have never looked so butch in my life.

I won it when I went to Microsoft and playing Totemball with it was really funny.I cant say I tried it on Rainbow Six because I dont own the game, but the photos I try to take are always really dark. I wouldnt have bought it for the current price if I didnt get it free.

Have you played around with cam settings in the system option. Mine are really dark and I just press the dark wall or light wall option which brightens me up a little. Did you have a nice holiday in Portugal?

Thanks, I will definetly try that when I go back home after the holiday is over! That Rayman game also has some mini games with the camera, so might be fun to try renting it.
