I know there are some pretty intelligent guys on here, so thought I'd ask a technical question to you all!
I have a Wii, and want to hook it up to my Surround Sound system. I'm fully aware the Wii can't do 5.1, but I want it to play out of my speakers rather than the TV speakers. I have these speakers, and would like to know the easiest/cheapest way to get the Wii connected. If have to pay some money for stuff that doesn't bother me really, just so long as they connect! Cheers guys!

Use the 2 stereo wires from the Wii cable and plug them into the 'Direct' input of your surround system.

Hmm, except that they won't reach, since everything is so far apart! Is there a way around that? Apart from moving the receiver obviously!

u could by a switcher from most electrical stores or music stores the idea of one of those is so that u can have 2 different systems ie vcr and dvd or in my case 360 and gamecube running through one speaker system u just need to click the button to swap over to the correct one but in summary they extend the distance between speaker and cables

I didn't know they sold extension cables for the two audio leads! And I don't have an electronics store near me! I'll try and find some stuff and you can tell me if it's right!

Lol, look what I just found:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?TabID=1&criteria=extension&ModuleNo=21 364&doy=28m12 I just found them as you posted that! That'll go well with my Component cables then when they eventually show up. Cheers.
