External Coolers/Fans

I want to get some type of cooling system for my 360. I've heard good and bad things about Nyko's Intercooler 360. Which is the best?

I have the Nyko's Intercooler it works great still. I haven't had a issue with it.

Get the pelican fan stand. Works Great. I had the intercooler, It broke, and MS said it actually ruins 360's

I find opening the casing and leaving ice inside the machine works well however it does create the new problem of having to deal with running water inside your 360, but I promise it won't overheat.

I would steer clear of the Nyko intercooler. First of all, I ordered the intercooler and it didn't work at all. This however seems to be a problem with my system as I had another sent and that didn't work either. I gave one to a friend and he said it worked but was noisy and had heard of problems with the intercooler causing damage.
My advice, the intercooler isn't worth the cheap plastic it's made of.

I have my 360 sitting ontop of a laptop cooler which is the perfect size for the 360. It does make the console run at a noticably lower temperature but my first 360 died regardless so I dont think its really worth bothering with coolers/fans.

Still I would loose the thing sooner then later. There has been much problems of getting the 360 overheated by it instead of cooling it down. MS said it and there are multiple stories and photo's from it on the internet.

The Pelican stand seems save. Best thing is: keep the 360 away from the heating/radiator and other heat sources, give it enough space around it. The Pelican stand is at the moment the only safe product as far as I know

Nyko guarantees it will not trash your 360.

As for the unit itself: our review unit arrived dead, but that was after overnight courier shipping from the US. Doesn't really say anything anything about the unit.

Yeah, but you never know. They could say "We don't have enough evidence that the Intercooler did this to your Xbox 360."
