Default Command & Conquer: Tiberium Wars Demo

The PC demo for this game has just been released and it's really fun, too bad it's only 2 single player missions and a skirmish mode on 1 map.

I'm looking forward to seeing this on the Xbox 360 even though I prefer playing it with a mouse on the PC if it has the same control scheme as LOTR:BFME2.

You can download the demo here , here or here (or on one of the many other mirrors out there).

Quote:
• Fast, Fluid, Fun - The ultra-responsive, smooth-as-silk gameplay C&C invented is now better than ever, intuitively placing your entire arsenal at your fingertips.

• Story Like You’ve Never Seen - High-definition, live action video sequences that seamlessly tie the game’s epic story together featuring an unparalleled, diverse cast.
• Adaptive AI - The game AI matches your style of play - choose from distinct AI playing styles such as ‘rushing’, ‘turtling’, and more, or level the battlefield and let the AI use its own tactics to give you the highest level of challenge.
• New Ways to Attack - Keep your opponent guessing by building flying battleships, wielding the power of terrifying Ion Storms, and combining units to form powerful never-before-seen super-units.
• Technology Makes the World Come Alive - Lose yourself in reflected sunlight and scream in sheer joy as you blow chunks off of enemy tanks, structures, and anything else you can launch a rocket at. The game world gains a new dimension and the battlefield comes to life as the atmosphere fills with smoke, fire, haze, tracers, explosions, and state-of-the-art weather effects.
• Intuitive and Evolved Interface - Fully evolved side-bar interface that allows you to fully manage your base operations while never leaving the action.
• Battle the Best Online - With multiple online game modes, all-new multiplayer maps, and a fully featured content editor, go online to see how you stack up in RTS’ ultimate forum.
What do you guys think?

Footage I've seen looks really good, but I must say I more or less quit RTS after Warcraft III, at which point I felt I'd seen and done it all.

May download the demo just to give it a whirl Any indication on system specs, so I know whether my laptop can pull it off?

Downloading now

Pretty sure I'll buy this for the 360, although I'll probably check out the control scheme first - it was OK in LOTR:BFME2 I seem to remember

I nearly shit myself over the LotR-360 control scheme before I deleted it.

Thumbs down Re: Command & Conquer: Tiberium Wars Demo

Thanks for the specs Rival. Looks like my graphics card is the bottleneck for me I'm gonna give it a try anyway as soon as my internet connection is up again in my new house, which should be today or tomorrow. Hooray!

What?!

For an RTS on the 360, the controls worked really well. Not as easy as a mouse and keyboard of course, but the controls did the job well enough, personally.

I thought the LOTR:BFME2 (360) control scheme was excellent. Enough that I played the entire 2 campaigns and many online matches. After playing the PC C&C3 demo I'm excited for the 360 port. I'd pick up the PC version but my PC doesn't handle it as well as I'd like. (I had to play it on low-med settings)

Just played this baby today on ultra high video settings, looks great Plays great too, but the ion cannon in the end of the tutorial mission is a bit overpowered

You can play with NOD as well. In the skirmish screen where you can select the difficulty level and stuff, open the dropdown menu for your army and while pressing the N button, click on NOD. You can play against a GDI enemy using this same method. Too bad they removed all the content for the Scrin though

I never said it wasn't well done for an RTS on the 360. Just that I hated it I'm a fervent opposer of the bullshit that FPS requires a mouse+keyboard, but well uhm strategy games have menus and require multiselecting units. Sorry, but imho doing that on a console is akin to working on Windows with a controller: some things were just not meant to be.

Pretty sure I'll be picking this up for the PC, it's out two months earlier and like Curry said, at least you know the controls will be up to scratch
