Where have all my comments gone??

On the news page - all the comments I've made have been deleted..?

Number13 got autoblacklisted for some reason... fixed it and moved his IP into the whitelist, but I'm still looking into some of the details.

For background info: we're getting hit with several HUNDRED spam comments per day, so it's a hard job to keep it all under control. I ran Akismet for a while, but it was just as harsh on valid comments as on spam, so we're currently experimenting with some alternative measures.

actually when I make a comment on the home page, I press the button to submit comment and the J1980 appears as worm man and then I get a spam message.

I am NOT worm man for those that wondered, but where it says name, email my J1980 goes worm man. It might be my browser (Firefox) with input stuff makes me look like a spammer perhaps? I was making a reference to worm man, not my username....

Your comments have been hitting some ridiculous triggers yeah, including misbehaving Javascript code etc. I've also whitelisted you some hours ago

I'm currently monitoring everything going on with the spamfilter and tuning it to our liking, so it should be generating zilch false positives soon.

Realistically we'll be running login only before summer, because all I can do now is 'keep the boat afloat'. But as I've said many times before I want to keep the comments open as long as possible.

Yeah I need to clear whatever stores the form data in my browser. I put one thing and it tries to overwrite with another using the autocomplete rubbish in the name field. It must see me as a spammer because of the odd names with the same IP number perhaps.

I am very happy for people to disagree with me Im mature enough for open debate, but so many people are insulting and make assumptions of my life, lifestyle, assume why I said the comments. I can only deal with so many idiots at one time. This site has great forums, but attracts a lot of demented people in the comments pages. Did I read somewhere once that you are soon removing the comments option from the news and keeping it forums only for discussions, debates, help stuff e.t.c.

Im being serious - PUT ME ON THE BLACKLIST! Its better not to respond...

Dude, is it any wonder? You put yourself on the line by making a ridiculous statement saying you wouldn't be seen dead with VP. You were just asking for trouble.

Why you think the game affects masculinity is anyone's guess, and why you think the game is so girly I don't know. You can quote Eurogamer articles all you like, but it's your kind of attitude that affected the sales of the game.

Nothing against you personally, I'm just surprised of your attitude towards a game that deserves to be played. I got bored of it eventually, but I certainly never accused the game of being aimed at girls, and something that shouldn't be played by grown men. Give it a proper try, I think you'll be surprised.

No not really - both are entirely different mediums aimed at different audiences. The forums are for discussing whatever registered people want to bring to the table, and the FP comments are for discussing the newspost in question. Highly different audiences in practice, people like to be able to drop a oneliner about something that happened.

Amen to that! Viva Pinata was a great game to detract me from shooters like Gears. After playing so many action titles, Viva Pinata felt like a totally new and fresh experience for me. I'm also very glad that Rare intends on making a sequel
