Uh and how do they detect? Predetermined list of naughty words?

Don't they know that that's usually an open invitation for people to find even naughtier words than the authors could come up with?

No idea, my team was DOUCHEBAGS, and one worm was called Steven Hawkins. I couldn't choose Douchebags, it was re-named "rebels" and Steven Hawkin was changed to something like Dr.Death. The rest of my team had their original (my created) names.
