The next hype?

Now that GR:AW and Oblivion are released, the Xbox 360 doesn't really have a big hype game coming up (except for Gears of War, Dead Rising and the mysterious next Bungie project). What hype do you think is up next?

I'll say Battlefield but last night on GRAW the hype on every game was this new Blazing Angels game.

That never said for sure what title the RPG would be. You hiding something?

They made an awsome KOTOR2, a few bugs but I didnt have near the problems I herd most kids bitchn about. Even though people seem to bitch about every game these day's!!!!!

Complaining about bugs isn't bitching in my opinion. If a game has annoying bugs which can be fixed without much effort I expect the developer to do so.

I'm thinking the next hype will be something other than a game. Maybe some new content blades, bigger HDs or something not yet announced.

Problem is ofcourse 999 out of every 1000 bitchers haven't the faintest idea what programming is and how much effort an issue could be to solve. A small clipping or popup issue, such as the mailboxes and trees in Ghost Recon when turning corners, could be a fundamental problem in the octree handling (close to "rewrite your engine") or a small problem in Z-buffer caching (possibly less than a day if you know where it goes wrong and how).

By small changes i mean things like values in a config file or something like that. But i agree that most people have absolutely no clue what they're talking about.

You're right, most of us (including i) don't know what we're talking about. But we also expect the creators to make a product that works for the now standard $60.

We can't just lower our expectations for a title just because the programming is too hard. That's what they're paid for. I realize what was said that it probably is a lot easier said than done, but like i said in another thread, Fix the problems as they come up and not after release and answer the customers with "Oh well, sucks for you. Now pay attention to our next title!"

I didn't say that

I just responded to the remark that simple bugs shouldn't be in the Gold version, which implies many retail games have simple bugs. I don't think that's the case actually, because things that may seem so simple and basic may be a programming hell to fix. So yes, games have had quite some bugs so far on 360, but I think in lots of cases we can reasonably assume the bug is a rather 'bitchy' one.
