We have two 360 in our home and am wondering what is the best way to use them on Live? We have to different gamertags and I am experiencing one of the consoles continually dropping from XBOX Live. One is wired the other is wireless. The wired one is the one that is dropping. I tried it wireless and the same thing dropping. Keep getting the "disconnected from xbox live" message. I am using a linksys WRT54G router now but have orded the linksys dual band A+G hoping that will take care of it. My moden is a SPEEDSTREAM 5200, I really believe the network card in the console is going bad because the other console never drops off. Microsoft won't have anything to do with that tho. They keep blaming the ISP. My connection rate is 3MBPS with my ISP. Any other suggestions on how to do it or is the new router I have ordered a good fix?

The Static IP Test fine. It shows there is no internet connection when it drops off.

Did you use portmapping to forward the correct ports to one of the 360's?
Theoretically, if you forward the ports to the wired one and then you go online with the wireless one, the wired one will start receiving information which he would quite probably consider corrupted since it was not intended for him. I would understand that as a reason to disconnect and try again from a programmer's perspective. |
