Buy God Hand

Yeah it's that simple. Buy. God hand. IGN gave this awesome title a 3 but don't let that put you off, I'll give you 10 reasons why this game is worth the 20 bucks it's on Amazon.com at the moment.



1. It's an oldschool brawler by Clover Studios. Several of Devil May Cry's and Resident Evil's key figures worked on God Hand and it shows.

2. The game's difficulty is right up there with its Beat 'Em Up siblings Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry but the difficulty is partially dynamic. You have to pick between Easy/Normal/Hard but as the game will noticeably adjust the difficulty as you play through it which keeps the game fucking challenging but never makes it unfair.

3. "you can wax on, wax off all you like; I'm still kicking your ass"



4. It has midget power rangers, references to Genji 2's E3 demo and a whole bunch of other witty pop references

5. It has a move called Pimp Slap

6. It has a move called Ball Buster



7. Admittedly the camera system looks TERRIBLE at first, the tank controls + the weird perspective seem like the worst camera ever. However, after about 5 minutes you realize it is really genius. The game is built around the fact that you can't control the camera (enemies don't jump you from behind all that much for instance) and it works really well. Besides, you don't have the time to adjust the camera anyway and you'll need that right stick for those hardly needed dodge moves.

8. The official theme song. No explanation needed.

9. You can customize your own combos, which brings some strategy to the fastpaced ballstowalls action. You can assign a move to each of the stages of your combo (pressing square once does move A, then the second press does move B etc) and each move has it's own pros and cons (guard breaker/launch enemy/charge attack etc)

10. It's a pretty obscure title so you can brag about how hardcore you are to all your real life friends after playing it. I realize that by creating this topic I ruined those bragging rights for you on this forum but if you don't send the link to your friends they'd probably think you're awesome because you play all these niche titles.



If you're still no convinced you're really thick headed. VideoGaiden's (WARNING: HEAVY SCOTTISH ACCENTS) video review might push you over the edge. If you're easily annoyed by Scottish accent then you can check out the Games Are Fun video review, featuring yankee accents.

I read a review about it and felt really impressed by how innovative the ideas behind it were. If I had a PS2 this would definetly be one of the games I would get and it is one of Clover's last games as well right.

Sorry, I don't own any last-gen consoles . I'd definitely give it a shot if I still had my PS2.

I agree, Buy God Hand. However, don't expect to defeat the last boss. He's so fucking hard !

Well, the game kind of is a joke. A deliberate joke! And its so funny, especially the strange, effeminate and ultimately gay Power Ranger rip off kids.

If you care to explore however, you'll notice the combat system is extremely deep. I can't be bothered YouTubing at the moment but its worth finding some of the better (Japanese) players.
