Default FlatOut UC

Nobody seems to be talking about this game. And for a game this good to come out without any hype is rare these days.

It would be a crying shame that a game that's so technically good and a massive laugh as well may suffer from under-exposure.

I agree, most fun online racer for a looooong time. It's not out in America yet, that's why there's no hype.

The reviews so far have been good but not good enough to make people take notice. Maybe they should release a demo as it would surprise a lot of people who've bought Forza and DIRT and don't fancy another racing game.

The wrecking derby and ragdoll stunts are more than enough to make me want it more than DiRT and Forza. The racing is seriously funny as well.

Yes, but don't blame me if you don't like it.

They're kind of the same game, aim is to win no matter what. But Flatout offers more freedom, Burnout punishes you for hitting a wall, Flatout rewards you.
The sence of speed isn't as fast as Burnout's at first, but get up to Flatmobile and the Rocket, and it can seem faster.

I prefer Flatout over Burnout... If that helps.

Better than burnout revenge for sure, but for me that didn't feel as good as Takedown. FlatOut gives you that smile when total carnage is exploding around you. It's a fun game and I don't mean that patronizingly (it's pretty tough singleplayer). It moves at a fair clip and the physics are good and over-the-top.

Like burnout revenge on the 360 it feels very polished, very finished.

Flatout > Burnout !

I've been playing it for the past 5 days and haven't touched any another game so far. Great fun in multiplayer and the SP can be very demanding at times.

This game is brilliant - just as good as Burnout - fucking hard in single player mind - it can be ruthless. Crucially it keeps you coming back for more because you want to win. Graphics are superb and, as has been said, its very polished. Definately a buy buy buy, keeper.

Flatout and Burnout are pretty much made for exactly the same audience. If you like one you will like the other. It's not a question about which one to get. If you like one of them, you'll want both. At the same time they are very diffrent in their core mechanics.

What I don't understand is why you ppl (and even the reviewers) think this game is very difficult. It's really not if you pick and outfit the right car for each race. There IS a reason for all those cars and tuning options I thought SP was fairly easy except for like 1 or 2 tracks that took more than 1-2 attempts to win.

The ragdoll stunts are kinda lame. You'll do em once, maybe twice and then go back to racing and wrecking other cars. Imho the ragdoll tossing could have been left out and the game would have actually been even better.

But, the one thing that really disturbed me and which almost noone else even mentioned ...... Flatout UC is like 90% Flatout 2 with somewhat better graphics and a lot more objects. The only REAL diffrence is the Carnage Mode which isn't all that diffrent to what Flatout 2 had to offer.

So, if you played Flatout 2 you MIGHT wanna think twice about getting this because it's pretty much the same game.

A lot of UK people seem to be playing this game, why is that? All the online games i join have a majority of UK players.

This game is absolute class. It really does live up to its name of Ultimate Carnage.

If you liked the original, then you will like this. I bought the original game on the original Xbox and all the online side of things contained, was just racing. Glad to see that the mini games are now supported online aswell.

Lots of other racing modes online aswell, where you do a lap of the track one way, then turn around and do a lap in the opposite direction, giving the back markers the opportunity to wipe you out on their way past.

More fun and more carnage than MotorStorm, that's for sure...

I think Motorstorm and Flatout couldn't be more diffrent. Makes no sense to compare those 2 with each other. The Crashes in Motorstorm are a gimmick, a visual detail and not the point of the game. You'll want to avoid crashing if you can while in Flatout it's all about crashing stuff and crashing yourself isn't so bad either.

You missed my point entirely there, I said it was more FUN.

You still need to be careful in Flatout as you can total your car completely, whereas you wont finish the race.

My entire point was, that off-road racing is all about alot of carnage, with a whole load of integrated fun. Having a game being fun to play is one of the biggest features a game can hope to have, fortunately for Flatout, this is a good thing and in particular, just shows how shallow an experience Motorstorm is in comparison.

So I thought there was supposed to be a demo out now. I haven't seen it on the marketplace, which was dissapointing cause I want to try it.

There is a demo out for it, Europe only I'm afraid.

Go do the region workaround, it should work ok.

Region workaround.

Remember that there is a chance of getting banned from Xbox live when using this workaround.

The same kind of ban if you've got a modded Xbox.
