I opened the box and put the brand new disc into my Wii, applied the update, and selected the Game channel... "Game disc unreadable. Consult Wii manual."
I blew on it, put it in, same thing. I put in Zelda. It worked. I put in Warioware. It worked. I put in Resident Evil 4. It worked. I cleaned off Metroid, put it in, same error. I waited 3 hours (playing Warhawk!), put it in... it worked. =/ Not sure at this point if i should exchange it or not, depends if it starts up tonight I guess. The game itself is pretty awesome. I put it on the advancd control speed, and initially I swapped the default A-fire / B-jump scheme so that A was jump and B was fire... after the first boss when my finger was about to fall off I decided to switch it back to the default. The controls really are great, but tiring. Having played games for years I've found numerous comfortable, relaxed positions to sit in and hold a normal controller. But with the new wiimote i find my arm gets tired after a bit just using the pointer functionality of it. The pointer functions as the right analog in this game. To aim right, point right, to turn right, point to the far right. It works very well. I can see already why IGN claimed this is the Wii's best title to date (tho i did love Zelda...). Looking forward to playing it more. |

It is only out here in Europe on the 19th of October if I remember correctly. Lucky Max has a whole 2 months + head start in the phazon antics. It might be my 4th wii game if Nights : Journey of Dreams really get delayed to 2008.

the motion control really is great.
for your grapple hook you z target something like in Zelda, push your nunchuk forward to grapple, and then as if you really held the grapple hook you pull your nunchuk backwards to rip the metal off the door you grappled. theres also a few places where you hve to grab some control lever w/ A, pull the wiimote out to pull the lever out, twist your wiimote to the left to reposition the lever, then push it back in. they really feel natural doing those things, as if you were really interacting with the objects. And i'll be lucky if i manage to beat metroid within my 2 month head start on europe... . Blue Dragon on Hard mode, immediately followed by Eternal Sonata and a little Halo online... and bam, it's october. |

You got some seriously huge games to keep you playing for a few months then! If it is anything like Metroid 1 and 2 then the 3rd should take you about a month alone to get everything. I really like the Metroid Prime chapters because of the exploration bit and how everything keeps changing with new upgrades.
I originally intended to buy Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy and Zelda with my Wii on launch day before the first 2 were delayed! |

i bought prime on GC, but only really played through the first level or so.
maybe you can fill me in on a little backstory? I was pretty confused in the first mission of Corruption when i work w/ some other bounty hunters. i thought we were all enemies due to the DS game (which i didn't play). but here we were working together almost as friends. |

Offcourse I can help fill in the blanks as well as I could possibly do so.
spoiler: In the first game Samus gets called to go check out what is going on in this planet after fighting Space Pirates in a ship and following them to Tallon. It turns out that the planet has a new material called Phazon that it got from the Space Pirates researching and transformed the creatures in the planet as well. As Samus you try to figure out a way to controll is but by the end of the last boss batlle it is already too late and the planet explodes just as you escape. Also a metroid prime creature which was created by the Space hunters managed to transform into Dark Samus. In the 2nd game she once again gets called to a planet hit by a Phazon meteorite that has split it up in a dark and light reality. The Light habitants ask Samus for help on getting rid of the dark habitants which she accepts.Once again Dark Samus appears to intervene by fighting Samus various times. That is where the 3rd game starts as the evil Samus tries to spread the Phazon around the whole universe. Those bounty hunters are a new deal since the DS game Metroid Prime hunters introduced the concept. Hope the spolier warning works and have fun playing it as I will once I get it. ![]() |

Metriod is a fun game. I'm playing on normal and I find it challenging.

I liked this game overall. It uses the Wii's exotic functions well and is probably the first Wii game I didn't regret playing afterwards.

The controls are definetly some of the best for the Wii as they help you a lot during gameplay. I finished it too soon though and now I finished the trilogy but what an incredible journey it has been.
Any of you two want to trade those friends vouchers send me a message. |
