Guys get banned from Live for playing Halo 3 Epsilon!

This is hilarious, I posted on it yesterday on my blog -some n00bs actually got their hands on illegal copies of Halo 3 -and started playing it online

for the world (prob. Bungie and Microsoft testing still) to see their gamer tags. Next day they get blocked, and then they turn to the Xbox forums (links included to the thread) to complain, until suddenly they realize what happened...LMFAO so funny. The gamertag is | SCAR | and now he's banned until 12/31/9999 LOL

Lol most people feel the need to post a thread as they join, one word of warning, dont start posting loads, if theres a thread even slightly appropriate to what you want to discuss, use that, they would just end up getting closed and being a waste of time

IMO if anyone is dumb enough to get an illegal copy of an EPSILON test of a game and doesnt go on appear offline or something to hide it, deserves a thread dedicated to their stupidity

At least they got a whole day of fun before getting banned but they can just do another tag correct?

That message about only being able to play until 9999 is also quite amusing specially as the planet would have exploded or the human population would be extinct by then.

yeah the 9999 would so be in your face -I can just imagine staring at that. I don't think it's as easy as getting a new gamertag -it's all linked to your account with live, so credit card, name, address. I think he'll have a lot more trouble (using his mom maybe lol) getting back -oh the shame! Playing Halo 3 under your mom's name!

And how exactly would an unsigned build of a game run on a retail console ? This quite obviously a hoax by 2 kids who got banned for playing on live with a modded console (and most likely some pirated game that is not h3).

yeah i thought about that too -still I did see those pics on the internets of those shrink-wrapped Halo 3 boxes somewhere in Italy.. Remember, it's shipping already, so there's bound to be some guy trying to make a buck selling them out of a truck or whatever. At least that's what I'm thinking.

The game's gold, and usually high-profile titles leak into the warez-scene more or less the exact hour they arrive at the presser. So most probably, say 100% chance, it is signed.

I actualy touched one of those shinrk wrapped limited edition boxes the other day when I was in GAME. If it is really like that then the Gears of War tin box looked a lot better.

Its the Epsilon, you cant play anything offline.

= appearing offline wouldnt have done anything, the whole time i was playing there was debug text running in the right corner and also the text in the bottom middle saying when i logged in and what my GT was. even if i appeared offline they would have still seen that.

its only a ban on the console/gamertag you played it on, i personally have 4 360s and my dad has one of his own, all of which work fine online, and yes, i can easily sign up for a new tag under the same address and name and IP.

The Halo 3 Epsilon test is not unsigned... im sure you read the story where a woman that works at MS got he son the epsilon then a couple guys stole his account and did the second profile glitch to get the beta off him, well they let some people do it then it blossomed into a good 100 people glitching into it, and i was one of them.

yes, after i signed on with my main account i was talking to a few friends and i was saying i hope i dont get banend for this...
