Has anyone heard of this? I hadn't, until I loaded up the internet browswer on the PS3 and was greeted with this at the initial page.

IGN gave it a 9.0, and I trust IGN's ratings w/ my life. I've never been disapointed with a game they rate this well. I'm going to check Blockbuster first when I return Heavenly Sword, but if they don't have it there's a great chance that I'll be swinging by Gamestop to purchase this tomorrow afternoon.

In their closing remarks they highlight the bad things about the game, I was looking to see if 'length' was one of them (the main complaint people had w/ Heavenly Sword), it wasn't. They said the menu load time, framerate, and level repetition are what can detract from the overall experience, but that it shouldnt be enough to stop you from playing this "ethereal hit".

I'm maybe 5 hours into this game and it's great.
When in the town it has a slow somber mood, almost the eerie feeling of a survival horror game, but not quite. It captures the feeling of being a town that is a gateway to the netherworld.

When you go into the various netherworlds (I've only seen 2 of... 7 i think?), the game loses that eerie feeling and becomes an action game similar in nature to Kameo. You kill an enemy, you get that enemies power. Then you can switch between the various powers you've collected like you do in Kameo. Each power can be upgraded numerous times by completing different required tasks (such as killing X enemies with it, or absorbing X more of that enemy, or using a few items). the graphics and walk around style are simlar to Eternal Sonata, only intead of going into a little battle, the enemies are free roam.

There's 2 main storylines, a guy and a girl, and you get to choose in which order you do their chapters. I've been doing the guys first, but i read that when i reach a certain point i will be forced to complete the girls before continuing on to the end of the game.

The story is fantastic.

I played the demo on my friends PS3 and thought it seemed real good. Had some neat ideas and I enjoyed the combat system. He mentioned picking it up sometime so hopefully he will so I can check it out more.

Oh i forgot to comment on the Sixaxis.

When you obtain a new power from a 'Folk', you hold R1 to leash onto its Id. Then when the Id turns red you flick your controller up in order to pull it out. There are other times when you have to tilt your controller to the left, right, left, right, smashing the Id into the ground on its left, right, left, right, etc...

This could be accomplished with analog controls, i agree, but... they chose Sixaxis.

In my 5 or 6 hours into the game, i've used this often enough to know that the Sixaxis is there and that i'm constantly using it, but not so much so that the sixaxis becomes the gameplay and that i'm annoyed by it. I think it's integrated well.
