Criminal that no MGS thread exists here yet. Shame on you all.

Anyway as you are all surely aware, 12th June brings Solid Snake back to our PS3 (for now?!?!?!?!) consoles and I for one cannot wait. Anyone in the know will be aware that the game will also ship with a copy of MGS: Online. There's also a Beta prior to the release, which kicks off on the 21st April, running through to the 6th May. Not too long, but a great taster no doubt.

Americans are likely aware that a pre-order nets them a place in the Beta, and the Japanese can get it a million different ways (probably). But what about us EU'ers? No chance right? Wrong!

Head on over to here to see how easy it is to secure your place. Yes it's the Japanese version, but who cares? The menus likely will be foreign too, but it's still better than nothing. If none of you do it, I'll be sure to let you know what it's like!

If i had a PS3 i would fucking love to, i've always been a hardcore MGS fan, destroyed every game to date. If no 360 version ever emerges i will buy a PS3 just to fill the Metal Gear shaped space in my life.

I think it'll be a good year at least before MGS goes to the 360, if it ever does.

Well they are both 360 threads, there wasn't a PS thread. I'm not gunna post about a PS3 Beta in the 360 forums, that's silly.

Oh no...have you just confirmed it's ok to have multiple threads of the same game in each of the different console format sections...

If someone creates a CoD4 thread in PS3 bit - BAN em....

Well if the Beta was for the 360, then sure it's fine. But as it's a PS3 ONLY Beta, it needs it's own thread, plus the aforementioned threads weren't so much about the actual game as they were about the game going to MS' consoles.

Now, discuss MGS 4.

Im gonna do some reading up on it. Haven't been over interested because its PS3, but I know it's gonna be one hell of a game and many people will buy a PS3 for it...and I could be missing out on a good gaming experience so I'll read more - check out any vids, images and I'll be back here tomorrow...

I played MGS 2 and 3 for a bit and didn't like them too much. Probably because of the old/traditional camera ... MGS 4 does look interesting though.

I believe so. I assume the download will only appear on their Store. Although I don't have a US account either so I'd be stuck either way!

No I've been too busy, I'll likely do it next Sunday when I have some more free time, or tonight, but there's football that needs to be watched!

It shouldnt load for anyone outside of Japan. I had to use the Japanese proxy it tells you to use to get my key

Ahhh I see, Konami changed it since I did it. It loaded normally for me when I posted this, too many codes being dished out most likely.

Codes still come out, you just need to use a Jap proxy.

Glad I haven't set up a Jap PSN account yet seeing as they might make the beta available outside of Japan

I doubt they are, and even if they are whats stopping us from downloading it in English once it's out.

Hmm seems the EU Beta program doesn't need any codes or anything. Nothing announced anyway, but I'll do a Jap account just in case.

Beta comes out on the 17th, but doesn't go Live until the 21st, so you've got four days to download it before everything kicks off.
