I've been having a bit of a nostalgia trip lately, clearing out some space in my old house and packing away some old systems and games, and there were a few absolute classics in there that I'd love to see put up on the Marketplace.
A couple of examples: * The original Shadowrun game on the SNES - it was pretty unique for the time, an isometric RPG, starting off with your character waking up in a morgue and spending the game piecing together his identity and who killed him. The story was brilliant, and the final boss battle utterly memorable - but it was the control system that I loved most - you moved your character as normal, but for attacks, you had an independant crosshair which you'd aim over the assailant of your choice. It just felt natural and right to the game. Then the licence got destroyed by the awful PSOne (I think) version which was top-down and crappy. I know it's coming back in next-gen form, but it just won't be the same, the original RPG is one of my favourite games of all time - bring it back! * Super Probotector (Contra Spirit in Japan, of course). I'm glad to see this has been announced for the Marketplace - the game was pure brilliance. * Pilotwings - I know this is a Nintendo licence, so unlikely to appear on the Marketplace, but in the same way that Marble Blast took certain features of Marble Madness and Super Monkey Ball, surely some enterprising small developer can bring us a game with the same sort of feel as the mighty Pilotwings? * Kid Chameleon - No-one else I know even remembers this game, but I thought it was great. Almost like a side-scrolling precursor to Kameo, except in this case the transformations to more appropriate forms were done as the result of donning special masks. * Ant Attack on the ZX Spectrum - with a next-gen update, this game could be rocking. Does anyone else remember it? Used to scare the crap out of me when I was 5 years old! ![]() * Skool Daze/Back 2 Skool - two games which I've never understood why they didn't spawn some sort of next gen sequel with every new generation. The plot is simple, the gameplay also, but the potential is brilliant. Especially with a Live game where the school is populated with different players in differnet roles (the hero, the bully, the headmaster) all trying to catch each other out. * Virtual On - this game is MADE for XBox Live. Seriously. One fast-paced mech each, a city environment to hunt each other down in - it would kick ass and (SF2 aside) could go down as the greatest XBL multiplayer experience ever! Anyone agree/disagree or have any more to add? ![]() |

I want to see E.T. from my old Atari 2600.
Actually, I would like to see some incarnation of any old side scroller shooter, contra, gradius, etc. |

Virtual On for 360 would be a blockbuster. That game had such a perfect feel to it. Some games just have the "it" factor. Hmmm, I wonder why Virtual On isn't being developed for Live? Doesn't make sense. At least I can play SB.

Tons of great choices already posted in here.
I'd second any votes for Golden Eye and Perfect Dark from the N64. I'd really like to see Crystal Castles make a return. And i don't know if anyone ever played the Vanishing Point racing game that was first released on the Dreamcast, but if they could just make a multiplayer version of the stunt mode from that game for XBOX Live Arcade, i'd be in heaven.

How about these super addictive all-time-classic never-die-never-quit
titles : * BUBBLE BOBBLE (imagine it with achievements and leaderboards) * GHOSTS AND GOBLINS (do you recall that little night starting at a graveyard in his quest to save his mistress?) And of course where on earth is MS PACMAN ???? It was supposed to be out for the 360 months ago. Will it be only for Japan region ? |

I played Battletoads last night on a Genesis and it's still just as good. I love picking the pipes up to kill the bitches with their whips and their long hair.

I wouldn't mind seeing any Intellivision games, or Super Castlevania. That had to be one of the best in the Castlevania series. Or better yet, Space Harrier, that game was the shit on the Master System.

You dont want RoadRash trust me!!!!! Ive been suffering from it all weekend. My bestfriend got a new motorcycle and within 10min I had already ran threw my wood fence into the street.
But maybe by the time the game hits the stores everyone will have all the crashing out of them. |
