360 camera

Hey guys just thought you might like to know;
My Xbox source was teasing me last weekend with the Xbox camera. Here's my take on what I saw, The picture quality was quite good especially for the price point (I could see all of the detail on his UK only G.R.A.W.faceplate plain as day. Bastard!)
The camera features several lighting settings to improve picture quality in various lighting situations. I also notice very little jumpiness, for example when something moves really fast in front of the cam, like a waiving hand. I know typically this causes some cams to freak out. This was NOT the case with the 360 cam.
They also hinted at several features that will come with the cam such as motion sensative on-screen effects (desktop background will deform / smudge with the wipe of the hand).
I am speculating that it will have many of the features included with the current generation of Logitech cameras (motion tracking and face recognition)

Oh well, just something to think about.

I saw a player with his xbox camera on UNO, looks really good quality video. It doesn't jump - plus the pic you see is a lot wider than the original gamerpic image

I think i may pick it up for 79.99 seeing as i need to get a new year of gold, and a new headset + the mic + as they said 3 arcade games and 200 mp points, sounds very good to me

well got my 360 cam, and have offically recieved my first batch of porn...Not really sure who sent it since there not on my friends list...But atleast it was a nice asian chick.lol

Is there away for xbox to know if peeps are using the cam improperly?

At the end of the day your pictures are being hosted on their servers... so as far as there being 'a way' sure... but I doubt it would be too worthwhile for them to do much other than block you from sending / posting pictures.

I ordered a camera from an ebay shop xbiteworld today. It says the camera is in stock, but ships without packaging! Does that sound odd to anyone else? He has 15 to sell. Ive bought it anyway using paypal so if somethings wrong I can quickly open a dispute and pull my money back.

I think I can understand why they would ship without packaging. It's a tiny little camera but it comes in a huge box, one of those ones which is impossible to open without a pair of scissors and three trips to the hospital. So it'll be cheaper to post, and you don't need the packaging anyway.

Oh yes TRUE, less the packaging is only a bonus then. You just reminded me of when I nearly lost a finger getting my Hard-Drive out the box.

Not trying to start a war here, but the PS3 eye-toy is HD... this is the HD era... just something I noticed. I kind of wish the 360 cam boasted that as well.

To be honest...ok HD is improved picture quality, but with a camera its no big deal. I'd rather pay £40 for a camera than £150 or something for a HD eye as the Video Cam functions in game is only a 4x4 inch box view and cam chat aint much bigger on screen.

Unless the Xbox360 & PS3 did full screen video chat it aint much cop. AND the amount of idiots I've heard through my earpiece, ....would I really want to see them in HD quality video!!!

I don't think resolution is the biggest issue. If you start allowing high-quality image and video transfer, you're gonna start clogging up a lot of Live bandwidth.

Still just saying, it's one of those things that Sony kids like to talk up, but I see your point. I don't know if I'll get the 360 cam, unless I see games actually utilizing it. All other console cams have been shit...

Usual stuff through.

The sony fan machine just likes to quote that their god like machine does everything better and more powerful without actually looking at what they get out of it.

Wi-Fi, Blu-Ray for instance, all very well and good but is there any real need to make it standard so everyone has to pay for it. So they have now got an HD camera which Studley has already pointed out the flaws concerning resolution, and they have basically alienated any people with a PS3 that doesn't have an HD TV again more moeny for something you won't use which seems to be becoming the PS3's motto.

Buy a PS3, we'll charge you for a load of things you don't need!

Yeah lol, I can see the Sony adverts now...

The PS3 vacuum, washing machine, dishwasher, telephone, fax machine, wifi internet and last but not least a games console.

I do like the Microsoft has given consumers the option. If we want wireless, we'll buy wireless, if we want HD quality movies, we'll buy the HD Dvd. I personally just use a games console as a games console with a wireless adapter on the back. The PS3 is beginning to look and sound like a hyped up laptop. I did prefer the PS2 over original xbox, but the xbox360 has to be about the best console I've ever paid for, and I've gone through quite a lot since my first original Sega Master System...

lol i had one of those little black spectrum ZX 16 in 1985 mate when I was 5yrs old...noob my arse. A spectrum was always thought of as a computer, I wouldn't class it as a console.
