Microsoft continues to insist we don't need HDMI for high-def gaming, and that the majority of HDTVs only have component inputs. They seem to think that there isn't a big enough demand for HDMI. Since day one, they have stated "we will provide an HDMI for our customers when it makes sense" (Todd Holmdahl, E3 2005, Team Xbox interview). There has been much speculation about whether HDMI would even be possible, since all other output methods are analog instead of digital. Just last month Microsoft told IGN "Xbox 360 currently doesn't include a digital out connection for video. Our platform is flexible enough to allow support of a digital connection in the future should we choose to do so." So yes, it is possible. They are just reluctant to offer such an accessory.

Hasn't the sales pitch for the Xbox 360 always been giving the user the choice? Isn't that the point of the two SKU gimmick? It seems only to follow the same line of thinking to offer HDMI to those of us that want to fork over the extra money. Microsoft just seems to get the impression there isn't a big enough demand. This petition is to show there is a HUGE demand for HDMI support on Xbox 360. With the HD-DVD drive coming you would think it's a no brainer, but Microsoft continues to be reluctant. Show your support for the cause by signing this petition. We have strength in numbers, so pass this on to all your gamer friends that also wish HDMI was an option for the Xbox 360.

sadly, petitions don't usually work in the private sector of the United States, the market decides what happens, and what doesn't.

If enough people complain that they aren't buying an Xbox 360 because of HDMI, guess what'll happen?(something would probably change.)

If you've already spent a lot of money on an Xbox 360/games/accessories/ms points, guess who doesn't give a shit about HDMI? Microsoft.
