Y'know I'm as much of a 360 fanboy as anyone else on here, but can't we all think of better things to donate money to than to smashing electronics?

For me its symbolic smashing the machines that we depend on and liberating our selves. Mind you having thought about I have much better things to spend my money on.

i just think its a waste of money and quite insulting to the poor sods who have been camping out days for it eps if ur the guy behind him misses out on the PS3 and then have 2 watch it be destroyed thats harsh im in no way a PS fanboy never liked the controllers and not 2 keen on sony but still give the $600 2 charity or something

Well, at the risk of sounding more than a little holier than thou: we are approaching the holiday season where there are many people less fortunate than us that don't have the money for food let alone $500 gaming systems and who are going without food, or lying in the cold streets at night. Consider giving the money to a shelter or to your local food bank, as they are truly worthy causes.

Or if you don't believe in the food bank/shelters, find a grassroots organization that you believe in and support them.

Who cares, it will be funny. I hope they buy the 60GB version too, because that will be even more painful for all the people camped out. I agree that charities should recieve more money, but I don't object to this at all, but rather think it's a funny idea. Although I am neutral and don't give my money to anyone

This is harsh - PS3's cost far more than 360's and will be in far higher demand at first that the 360 was at launch.

Still, it is going to be priceless to see peoples faces when they do smash a ps3!

People like this disgust me.

I want nothing more than to burn a $100 bill, because I can. But have I ever done it? No, because 15 random strangers near me, 15 friends near me... all place a greater value in that $100 than I do, and would use it to its greatest potential.

It comes down to "it's mine, I earned it, I can do what I want with it." Sure, that's fine, but if doing what you want involves flaunting your carefree attitude over those who do care: you're an asshole.
